Tonight: Bush rocks Woodward Park

I’ll consider tonight’s Bush concert at the Rotary Amphitheatre at Woodward Park a win for this reason alone: The band is currently touring with Nickelback, but we’re getting a Bush solo show and Nickelback will be polluting the ears of some other city.

Tonight’s show is the Birthday Bash for New Rock 104.1 and it also features Unwritten Law and local band Session. Tickets will be available at the door for $34. Gates open at 6 p.m. And seating is general admission, if you’re the type to line-up.

Don’t look at Bush as just as nostalgia act. While it’s true the band had most of its success in the 90s, the Gavin Rossdale-fronted band enjoyed a revival recently with “Baby Come Home” and the 2011 No. 1 hit, “The Sound of Winter.”

If Bush isn’t your thing, here are a few other live-music options for tonight:

I looked so hard at that first flyer (for CYC) trying to read any of the band names (to no avail) that I just gave myself a mild seizure. Whoooooooa…

Pisses me off that Nickleback seems to still have a career in an era where rock and good music has been put on an extended hiatus. Lets pray that the pollution they leave for that other city isnt anywhere near a Chernobyl type of situation. Pray for the people of that city. Doesnt matter what city it is…. when its Nickle Canadian Poser Back. Nickleback is for people who listen to different kinds of music except rock, but want to appear edgy on their Facebook, so they throw them in on their favorites, generally at the end. Poor Metallica gets the same treatment. Theyre unreal live still… bless the Gods… say what you want about their albums. Theyre unreal live, But I digress. Pray that Nickle ‘We Make Creed Sound Original’ Back’s bus hits a tree.
