TONIGHT: Mat Kearney is at Fulton 55. The show was sold out, but a few tickets opened up. No guarantees now. But good for you, Fresno, selling out the show. It’s just the start of a great week of live music. Keep reading.

ELECTRIC GUEST: Tuesday is Electric Guest playing Visalia Fox Theatre as part of the TOMS Shoes One Day Without Shoes event. I’ve been co-signing these guys for a while, so you know it’s got my stamp on it. Strange Vine also opens and it’s free. Can’t go wrong there, folks. I’ll be DJing between sets, so come say hi.

CUCKOO CHAOS: Another great show — L.A. indie group Cuckoo Chaos (I’m high on them too) plays Wednesday night at Audie’s Olympic with Strange Vine and Fierce Creatures. It’s a great show for only $5.

OH, AND FIREHOSE: Reunited ’90s rockers Firehose play Fulton 55 on Friday night before heading out to this weekend’s big Coachella music festival. Score another for Fulton 55!

THE STONE FOXES: Valley bred rockers The Stone Foxes return home to play Fulton 55 for the first time. They’re bringing with them Hacienda, whose upcoming album is produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Fancy.

ALSO IN TOWN THIS WEEK: Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons (Tuesday at Audie’s Olympic), Wayne “The Train” Hancock (Thursday at Audie’s), Big Black Delta (Friday at The Cellar Door), The Speakers on Blast hip-hop show with E-40, The Game, Slaughterhouse and more (Friday at Save Mart Center) and Satisfaction 50 and Joe Taylor (Saturday at Tower Theatre).

OF LOCAL NOTE: Beloved local roots/rock band Lance Canales & The Flood are having the release party for their new CD Saturday night at Audie’s Olympic.

PLAY BALL WITH BIG HATS: In the non-music realm, the big events of the week are the Fresno Grizzlies‘ home opener Friday at The Chuk (cross your fingers for no rain!) and Big Hat Days out in Clovis. Both run through the weekend.

GET BLOBBY WITH MOXIE: The BLOB Awards Year 2 (that’s Best Locally Owned Business Awards) are happening Wednesday at Fulton 55. Our own Heather and her pals from The Full Moxie are hosting.

CLASSIC: The annual Tower Classic Car Show is Saturday in the Tower District. Starting waxing the hot rod.

MMM, CAPITALISM: Yoshi Now! has its annual spring flea market on Saturday. Buy, sell — whatever works for you.

SHAMELESS: Beehive Birthday 7 is Saturday at Rotary Playland. Mother Nature better not mess with us again. Or else.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the Mat K show on Monday. He knows how to work a crowd. He pulled up an audience member to play onstage, coved Nicki M & Usher, walked out into the crowd to sing, and had a few other surprises. He played from all 3 of his past albums, which made me happy. I was afraid we were only going to get the singles. Hope he comes back!
