Other than getting “drunk and disorderly” at Club Habanos
1. MEET YOUR DEATH ANGEL
So I may or may not be related to the lead singer of the band headlining Starline on Saturday night. Depends on who you ask in my family. It’s Death Angel, a veteran Bay Area metal band, and Mark Osegueda is its pipes. The show also includes Warbringer and is the four-year anniversary celebration for concert promoter Diehardz Music. It’s a treat for metal heads, as Death Angel’s metal legacy dates back to the early ’80s and is quite legit. And I’m not saying that ’cause the singer might be my kin. [Tix]
2. CELEBRATE WITH FULTON 55
As I mentioned yesterday, music venue Fulton 55 is having its one-year anniversary party tonight. Boy, does time fly. It’s free to get in to tonight’s party and enjoy the sounds of local bands 40 Watt Hype, Patrick Contreras and Doc’s Holiday. Show starts at 9:30 p.m. Once again: F-R-E-E to attend.
3. GET DOWN AND DIRTY IN VISALIA
The Dirt Daubers are an old-time trio from Kentucky and Tennessee whose sounds is a mixture of ragtime, bluegrass, hot jazz, Appalachian, honky-tonk and whatever else they want. The band plays at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Cellar Door in Visalia. Local band Fox Teeth makes it debut in the opening spot. $5. [Info]
4, HAVE AN ’80S FLASHBACK
There’s another installment of Big Brother — the popular ’80s dance night — at Fulton 55 on Saturday night. A word to the wise, having Max Headroom on your flier is always a good idea. [Tix]
5. SEE SOME SURPRISES AT AUDIE’S
OK, apparently until late last night I totally missed that Audie’s Olympic has a couple pretty cool touring shows this weekend. Tonight’s a return of rockabilly act Big Sandy & His Fly Rite Boys, who are always a good time. Saturday brings Wednesday 13 — the former Murderdolls singer.
