Other than buying me a Lexus
1. GO SEE SOME CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
OK, so maybe some thugs ruined Christmas Tree Lane for ya this year, but there’s still the great display at Cindy Lane (below, my personal fave), the synced light displays (I’m mapping it out for you later today), Zoo Lights, Holiday Fun in the Tower or just whatever’s in your neighborhood.
3. LIVE LIKE A ROMAN
Sooooo, remember when Rome Nightclub got busted for breaking liquor laws and had to shut down for a while? It just finished up that 15-day sentence and is back open starting this weekend. It’s calling this weekend it’s “re-grand opening.” Comical wording aside, there oughta be big crowds this weekend. Tonight rapper Baby Bash is there and Saturday is a night of euro dance music.
4. BE AN EARLY ADOPTER
The Crescent Music Festival — organized by local musician Eva Scow — debuts Sunday at Fulton 55. It features Scow’s new jazz band and Musical Art Quintet, a San Francisco progressive chamber music group. All that means is the band plays classical music with a modern twist. Filling out the festival vibe is an art reception with photos from Ryan C. Jones, tunes spun by Mr. Leonard and apps from Veni Vidi Vici. Read more in this story from The Bee.
5. ORDER UP SOME LAUGHS
A weekend of Christmas shopping got you in need of a laugh? Then hit up Thai Palms for another of its big comedy weekends. Adam Richmond performs tonight and Saturday. Warning: He’s not to be confused with Man vs. Food dude Adam Richman.
