Outspoken comedian, political commentator and TV host Bill Maher brings his act to Fresno’s Saroyan Theatre on Sunday. Read my interview with Maher in which he talks about his comedy background and why he enjoys playing in places like Fresno, which aren’t always friendly to his political views.
Maher’s a divisive figure, no doubt. You couldn’t give some folks tickets to see him. If you’re one of those folks, then just skip over this post because we are, in fact, giving away tickets.

I would LOVE to go see Mr.Maher because I am a dedicated fan of his show, “Real Time with Bill Maher.” I love seeing what he has to say about political topics with his own comedic twist. (Plus I wouldn’t mind bragging my conservative family about it).
As much as I love Bill Maher, my mother loves him even more, and I would give the ticket to her. Maybe she’ll even take me with her? Or perhaps if there are two tickets to be had, I’ll give one to her and one to my husband. Bill Maher and guitars are just about the only things they ever agree on.

I registered Republican in Michigan in 1993 (because you had to choose back then and the lady tricked me), and Bill Maher has been making me feel like I’m not a weirdo since the ’90′s through Politically Incorrect. I am fiscally conservative (although current times demand otherwise) and am socially liberal as a gay man of 36 y/o. I watch Bill Maher’s show now on HBO. I am currently unemployed here in Michigan, and love his HBO show. If it wasn’t for his show, my poor ass might cancel HBO and bit torrent it or watch it through a friend. Bill Maher is a non-apologetic sarcastic liberal with social issues, and I agree with him 95% of the time.

I’ve been a fan of Maher’s for…wow, many years now. I remember I used to watch Politically Incorrect back when it was on Comedy Central. I don’t always agree with what he says, (how boring would it be if I did?), but I still find him to be the comedian with the biggest balls. So, yes, I’d love to see those big balls live.
I missed his last performance here in Tulsa, OK at the Brady Theater-couldn’t afford it at the time. I’d find a way to get to Fresno to see him, plus I have lots of family I’ve not seen in years that live near Fresno! I was able to see Bill at some comedy clubs in LA during the 80′s. Really enjoy his style of humor, and his unique take on current affairs.

Bill Maher is my favorite human being on the planet! I think the same as him on about 99% of issues. He is the only person both rational and brave enough to speak the way he does about religion. Bill is where I get my liberal news from. He’s not afraid to say what he thinks, or do what he thinks for that matter. We need more people with a power position to do what he’s doing!
Bill is so objective and has such an intelegent, spicy and unique sense of humor, which is so seldomly found in the “politically correct” America that for the last 13 years I have lived in US coming from Europe I could not find a better and more enjoyable source to get unfiltered update on events. I believe that among the “brain washing” news every society deserves to hear the voice of reality from someone who is not afraid to speak the truth and the fact that Bill exists gives me hope for the freedom of speach and existence of smart people who actualy have own brains and oppinions in this country. Bill and I are pretty much in lockstep. When we disagree, which is rare, it’s because of his marriage phobia which I find a tad unwieldy. Like him, I think Gov. Rick Perry is a self-serving, greedy moron. And we agree that the republican candidates in general create A LOT of concern for the future of this nation. I LOVE “New Rules” and never miss the show. If I win this, great. But if I don’t I will still watch him again with pleasure.

I thought his movie “Religulous” was funny and thought provoking…which is saying alot coming from someone born and raised Christian! ;p I think it would be cool to see him in person.
Bill Maher is one of the country’s leaders in challenging the idiocy and hypocrisy of many of the fame whores in this country. I think that more than McGinnis, more than Levi, more than any other comedian, and especially more than other politicians, he brought down the crazy Palin charge to the Presidency. He’s also more effective than Dawkins, Harris, and others who bring to light the fallacies and exploitation of organized religion. Would love to see him if for free, but have some issues with his positions on PETA, climate change and gay marriage, so am hesitating to pay 75.00 for an hour. Otherwise, I’m sure his show would be great.
