Degrees of Fresno: Sheryl Crow
OK, so we haven’t done a Degrees of Fresno game in a LOOOOONG time.
Yesterday, however, I was working on a story about Sheryl Crow for Sunday’s paper — she’s at Saroyan Theatre next Wednesday, btw — and realized just how much she’s done in her career and how diverse her list of collaborators is. Kathy said we should try to connect her to Fresno, and bingo!, here we are with a new Degrees of Fresno.
If you’re new to Degrees of Fresno, here’s how it works: You have to tie Sheryl Crow to Fresno using connections made through her music collaborations, appearances, personal life, etc. — just like the Kevin Bacon game. One thing, though, just visiting Fresno doesn’t count. The connection has to be stronger than that.
For examples, check out past DoFs, such as Hulk Hogan and Megan Fox. There are many answers, obviously, the fun comes in finding creative and unlikely ones. (FWIW: I’ve got a pretty good one, but I’ll see if anybody else gets it first).
You guys ready? It’s time for Sheryl Crow vs …

How about this one? Sheryl Crow is credited on the soundtrack for Pixar’s “Cars”. The sequel “Cars 2″ is co-directed by Fresno State alumni Brad Lewis.
Sheryl Crow was a mentor on this year’s season of American Idol where she worked with contestant, James Durbin. James has family in the local foothills.
Sheryl performed at the Fresno Fair way back when she was starting out and someone stole her jacket.
tad wadhams. woodstock.
sheryl crow is contributing to the corny beehive and their shinanigans that barely a soul reads this morning.
At least our trolls still have our back.
Thanks, troll.
I met Sheryl Crow in 1994 while living in Las Vegas. I played her song “Leaving Las Vegas” on my Sony Discman while driving a U-Haul when I moved from Las Vegas. I played the song from my front door all the way to the California state line. I have never pushed play on that song sense.
Sheryl Crow went to Mizzou. I went to Mizzou. I work in Fresno.
Boom.
Here’s the one I thought up immediately:
- Sheryl Crow did a song with Miley Cyrus
- Miley Cyrus’ is kin to Billy Ray Cyrus
- Billy Ray Cyrus was oddly given a key to the City of Fresno.
tad wadhams was her bass player in the 90′s.

Mike, I appreciate your efforts. Your entertainment reviews are excellent. Regarding JImmy’s comment on your physical appearance, we should be forgiving, Jimmy’s still emotionally disturbed from when he was pulling his dog in his cart and it was shot by his next door neighbor in retaliation for him being a jackass.
Keep up the good work.

Ummm. Thanks.
But I’m not sure what this is in reference to.
