Want more festivals on the Fulton Mall? Of course you do. We all do. Well here’s a new downtown festival happening June 18 (aka next Saturday). It’s the Fresno Chile Festival, and it’s dedicated to the chile pepper that shares a name with our city, as opposed to the stuff you get on your hot dog at The Chuck Wagon.
Here’s some more info on the Fresno Chile Festival, press release style:
This year June 18th the city of Fresno is celebrating the Fresno Chile Festival promoting all things Fresno and all things Chile pepper. Heat is the theme of the day with hot food, hot rods, hot technology, and hot talent.
World Music all day, including Cerro Negro, Espacio, Kemaya, Lance Canales, Patrick Contreras, and the Ray Moore Experience will be featured on two stages with food contests including a solar cooking contest, a chill zone and kidz fun zone. Sustainable technologies will be demonstrated using the sun to improve our valley’s quality of life.
More information at www.fresnochilefestival.com Free Admission, event runs 11am to 7pm.
For some lead-up excitement, the peeps over at TasteFresno are having a salsa recipe contest. Five will be chosen to compete at the Fresno Chile Festival for a chance at a $100 gift card to Sur La Table.
