To-Do Tonight: Attack! of Pecha Kucha

The next installment of the popular Pecha Kucha Night kinda crept up on us. It’s tonight at 7 at Starline. If you’re unfamiliar with Pecha Kucha Night, it’s a show-and-tell of sorts, put on by the local creatives. It’s the format that separates Pecha Kucha night from an average slideshow lecture. Presenters show 20 slides each for 20 seconds, making for a rapid-fire look at a single subject.

The Pecha Kucha concept was developed in Tokyo and has expanded globally. Fresno’s Pecha Kucha nights are popular, and often are standing-room only. So get there early. The theme this time around is “Tradition,” which is particularly fitting this week. You can check out the list of the presenters — including a photographer, a shop owner, a principal and a coffee maker — here. Cover change is $5, or $3 for Creative Fresno members.

ELSEWHERE: There’s a big concert tonight at Rainbow Ballroom. Scenesters will be out en masse to see Attack Attack!, Emmure, Pierce the Veil and others. It’s most definitely an all-ages show, almost like a mini Warped Tour. More info on the flier below:

if you paid someone to save your spot at pecha kucha you could probably also go and play a quick game of sports trivia @ the landmark during halftime of the mnf game. maybe.
