You Review Vicente Fernandez

Vicente Fernandez — the king (or “El Rey”) of ranchera music — returned to Fresno on Friday night, for his first ever performance at Save Mart Center.

Fernandez is an icon of Latin music, a 40-year vet of song and film. So was his most recent Fresno stop totally regal? Let’s hear your reviews.

Was this show as good as his past ones? At 70, does he still have it? How was the crowd? Into it? Was the arena packed? What were your highlights? Lowlights? Was it worth the money. Chime in on any of that and whatever else you wish in the comments section.

If you have photos from the show you want to share, head over to our Picture This site and upload ‘em.

Fabiola Alvarez says:

This was my first time seeing Vicente Fernandez in person and it was the best experience. I have seen him on tv and movies and have been amazed by his voice. Hearing it in person was even better. He sang for three hours straight and his voice projected the same from beginning to ending. His humble personality and appreciation of his fans made this presentation memorable. At 70 he still has the stagmina to keep his audience captivated and motivated. Although the arena was not packed but it didn’t matter. The people that were there cheering and clapping made it sound like a full house. It was worth every penny! If he comes back again I will definitely be there.

James says:

Although I did not go to the show this time, I have seen him several times here in Fresno and Vegas.

You are always sure to get a great show when it comes to the Legend.

Only problem are his ticket prices, he is really starting to get a little expensive to see. When he comes to town now, I prefer to skip the show and wait until his yearly Thanksgiving weekend show in Vegas instead.
