ORIGINAL POST: Cirque du Soleil brings its “Alegria” show to Fresno for a seven-show, four-day run at Save Mart Center. It starts on Thursday night and runs through Sunday.
Donald wrote a big preview story that appeared in last week’s 7, so read that and get up to speed on the Cirque folks have planned.
Then you can enter to win a pair of free tickets to Thursday night’s debut show. We have a pair of tickets for two lucky Beehive readers. Just leave a comment below to get in the contest. Winners will be selected at random.

I would LIke To have The chance to Win because My 7yr old nephew Would Love to See This show! I usually try to Take him to as Many Concerts and Arts/Entertainment Events as possible when we have the opportunity, But sometimes they land on school nights, But for this show it would be perfect because he is near the end of his school year. OMFSM, this would be the most awesome thing to see this year.
The last show I seen “O” in Las Vegeas. I later learned the shows are all different. I am anxious to see the new show.
I thought these groups were good as seen on TV, but I had no idea how good till I saw one several years ago. It’s totally amazing, and you should go see this because you’ve never before seen anything this colorful, this precise, this elegant or beautiful. This beats any movie you’ve ever seen.
Last time I saw Cirque de Soleil was on Mother’s Day in NYC, 15 years ago, in a circus tent located at Battery Park…looks like they’re still amazing.

My husband and I have seen a couple of Cirque du Soleil’s one in San Jose the other the “0″ in Las Vegas, do not really get all the hype? Needed to go twice because people thought we were crazy for not liking it, second time confirmed it, not our thing! But my 16 year old son wants to go so badly! I’ve been living in New York City for the past few years, but was raised in Fresno and am visiting family here right now. It sure is exciting to see big shows like this coming to the Valley. Hope we can keep this up.
My husband and I saw them in the early 80′s when they performed in a tent in LA. They were amazing and we’d love to see them again!

The only Cirque show I’ve seen is “Love” in Vegas – it knocked my socks off. I’ve heard that whatever show you see first is amazing and that after that, some of the wonder is gone. Would love a chance to compare…especially since “Alegria” was the first….
