To-Do Tonight: Thursday options aplenty
It’s ArtHop Thursday, which means there’s a whole lot going on tonight. Donald already covered some ArtHop options. So here are some other happenings.
POST ARTHOP INDIE ROCK
The go-to post-ArtHop stop for indie rock is Tokyo Garden, of course. Tonight has a strong lineup with regulars Rademacher, on-the-rise Achievement House and the always dependable Blake Jones & The Trike Shop.
AUDIE’S IS ROCKIN’
Audie’s Olympic has Three Bad Jacks, a high-energy rock/punk/rockabilly act that should not disappoint.
SAY ‘YO’ TO ROBOPOP
Electro outfit Robopop is at Yosemite Ranch. Catch ‘em while you can, ’cause Robopop main man Scotty Warner is moving to Nashville soon.
GET SOME WOOD
If you’re down to drive to Visalia, The Cellar Door has a stellar show. The Wood Brothers — a side project of Chris Wood of experimental jazz group Medeski Martin & Wood — is headlining. The band recently toured with Zac Brown Band, and has a pretty eclectic sound. Opener Carsie Blanton, a singer/songwriter from Philly, sounds sweet too. 9:30 p.m. $13.
TATTOOS & TUNES
Faithful & True Tattoo Shop, the new tattoo spot at Iron Bird Lofts, has performances from local guys Steve Lucero and Sahab as part of its ArtHop event. They dropped a video together recently — and I’m diggin’ it (especially the hook).
IF YOU WANNA DANCE
Twist has the dudes from Ghetto House Radio. Just don’t be too ghetto, OK?
FIND SOME LAUGHS
Two restaurants — The Press Box and Guadalajara (a personal fave) — take a stand-up comedy turn tonight. Details below.

Fresno DESPERATELY needs a hip-hop spot
I agree with Marc. And Im not talkin about Top 40 radio crap either lol. Oh, and add Neo Soul to that short list also
It was another great night at Tokyo Garden last night. I think Malcolm Sosa of Rademacher deserves some sort of community service award for the consistent string o’ gigs he’s set up on Thursday nights.
