Concert News: Big Fresno Fair 2011

UPDATE: Yet another update to the fair’s concert lineup, and it’s one the tween crowd should be super excited about.

Miranda Cosgrove — aka Carly from the Nickelodeon show iCarly — will perform at 1 p.m. Oct. 15.

The 17-year-old Cosgrove also has a music career. She released an album in 2010 and a new EP, “High Maintenance,” last week.

The fair also announced today that tickets to this and the rest of the shows in its concert series will go on sale July 29, with pre-sale opportunities for “Big Fair Fans.”

Look below for the rest of the concerts announced so far.

MARCH 8: We’ve got another addition to the fair concert lineup. Rock singer Billy Idol will perform on Oct. 13. Ready to rock that “Cradle of Love,” Fresno?

So the current lineup looks like this:

Ticket prices and on-sale dates should be coming within the next few months.

FEB 28: Add ZZ Top to this year’s fair lineup. The show will be Wednesday, October 5th.

ORIGINAL POST, FEB. 17:: Even though it seems like the fair just ended, we’ve already got the first batch of concerts to announce for the 2011 edition of The Big Fresno Fair.

Big Time Rush (11 19 10).jpg

Tickets won’t go sale for months, but I’m willing to bet that Big Time Rush(above) show will live up to its name and be a Big Time (Ticket) Rush. They’re an on-the-rise boy band with a TV show on Nickelodeon.

Sound familiar?

I am ready to see the legend himself MERLE HAGGARD and the great voice of Little Anthony….pass on the other two….

Little Anthony and the Imperials is a rhythm and blues/soul/doo-wop vocal group from New York, first active in the 1950s. Lead singer Jerome Anthony “Little Anthony” Gourdine was noted for his high-pitched falsetto voice influenced by Jimmy Scott. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 4, 2009

Merle Haggard accepted the prestigious award for lifetime achievement and “outstanding contribution to American culture” from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on December 4, 2010….73 year old legend.
