While you welcome back baseball season …
1. SEE A LIVING LEGEND
Indie rap hero Murs (from Living Legends) is at Starline tonight. He’s one of my favorite emcees, mainly because he puts on a fun and energetic show. He was in Visalia last year and played to a packed house at The Cellar Door. Hopefully Fresno can match Visalia tonight. Tickets are available here.
2. SEE SOME FRESNO LEGENDS
MoFo Party Band — undeniably one of Fresno’s best — headlines Fulton 55 on Saturday night for its 22nd anniversary show. That’s a lot of high-energy blues these guys have been pumping out over the years. If you’ve never seen them, they put on a helluva show.
3. HIT THE CLUBS
There’s the grand opening of Club Rome — which you can read all about right here — but if you’re not sold on Granite Park, then there’s also a new electro night at Roe, promising to be “the most exclusive dance party in Fresno.” Hope we didn’t just un-exclusify it. = )
4. HEAD TO CHINATOWN
Two good events in Chinatown this weekend. There’s the annual Chinese New Year parade, which is Saturday, and then on Sunday, Chinatown Youth Center hosts popular punk/hardcore band Ceremony for what oughta be a packed show. These guys opened for AFI when they were at Rainbow Ballroom last time.
5. GET NAUGHTY
It’s another hard rock and hot lingerie night at Audie’s Olympic on Saturday. Headlining the music part is Dead Hooker Society and The Naughty Angels will be modeling some sexy fashions. I feel like I should make a Charlie Sheen joke right now.
