1. GET FIERCE WITH BROTHER
No surprise here. I’m super psyched about tonight’s show with Brother and Fierce Creatures at Fulton 55. More than anything, I’m excited for Fresno to see Brother before they break out everywhere else. Again, this is one of the first U.S. shows for a band that’s got a big ol’ buzz over in England. Fierce Creatures, of course, are worth the price of admission on their own. Read more about Brother here. Tickets here.
2. BEAT THE CONGAS WITH PONCHO
Poncho Sanchez is nothing short of a living legend. He’s a Latin jazz legend, a Conga-playing legend and his beard is damn near legendary. Catch him Saturday at Fulton 55.
3. SEE PIANOS DUEL
This is something a little different for our weekend nightlife scene. Swiggs Bar Sports has a dueling pianos show that’s on tour and making a stop on Saturday. I’ve never been a dueling piano show. I’ve walked by and peeked in on some, and they seem like a lot of fun. Below is a video of the duo that’s coming on Saturday performing “Baby Got Back.”
5. HUNT FOR EGGS
It’s Easter weekend, we can’t talk weekend options without Easter eggs, right? Two things you could if you’ve got little ones eager to do some egg hunting: Rotary Storyland’s Eggstravaganza on Saturday morning and the Fresno Grizzlies’ on-the-field Easter Egg Hunt after Sunday’s game, which has special $2 tickets for kids.
