Five Things You Should Do This Weekend

Once you thank me for being back to help you plan your weekends …

1. GUZZLE SOME SUDZ
Beer drinkers of Fresno unite. It’s time for another year of Sudz in the City, the annual microbrew festival at Chukchansi Park. If you’ve never been, it’s a pretty easy thing: You buy your ticket, which entitles you to try a bunch of different beers — from local stuff like Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co. to regional faves. Watch out for long lines and drunk douches.

2. ROLL WITH THE ZOMBIES
If you didn’t already buy tickets and you didn’t win our contest, then you ain’t seeing heavy metal icon Rob Zombie tonight, Fresno. It’s sold out. Which makes it one of the hottest tickets of the weekend. Hold those horns high.

3. ROCK WITH THE FAY WRAYS
Volume-throttling local rockers Fay Wrays have their big CD release “circus” on Saturday night at Fulton 55. In addition to the band’s big, loud set — sample their music here, read an interview with them here — the show also has a HUGE lineup of newish local bands. Fierce Creatures, Achievement House, Grand Canopy, etc. are on the bill. Well worth your time and money, if you wanna get a sampling of the indie rock scene in town.

4. HEAR SOME SOUTHERNPLAYALISTICADILLACMUZIK
The Soulflower Group — the great peeps behind local-DJ-fueled tribute nights to artists like Prince and the Wu-Tang Clan — salute the great hip-hop duo OutKast tonight at Audie’s Olympic. Prediction: It’s gonna be funky.

5. MAKE YOUR PARTY WEEKEND MEMORABLE
So it’s Memorial Day Weekend (aka the unofficial start of summer) and there are a whole lot of club and dance nights celebrating. Rather than trying to pick just one, here’s a variety that you might enjoy.

BONUS!
Just because the flier is so bad ass.

damnit guys says:

that flier is an instaclassic, timeless. The last one. Love all the hot chick fliers. Then you get to the last one and thats when it gets real and that fuzzy s inside starts fluttering. Is it sadness, is it that warm fond memory feeling? Dunno. It flutters and makes you smile and sad at the same time. We all grew up watching wrestling. My time was in the 80s, which was most of our times watching. Andre the Giant. Jake The Snake, etc Ultimate Warrior. SUre i turned like, 11 and grew out of it.

Doesnt mean i dont have a place in my heart somehwere for it. RIP Randy.
