BRAD’S BACK
Any Brad Paisley fans out there? A new list of tour dates released Wednesday by Paisley includes a Feb. 19 show at Save Mart Center.

Openers for the tour are Miranda Lambert and Justin Moore. No details were announced about ticket prices or ticket sales. Expect more details soon.

THE RETURN OF LITTLE DRAGON
I mentioned this in passing the other day, but it’s worth its own devoted space: Little Dragon is coming back! The Swedish electronica/pop act will be at Audie’s Olympic on Nov. 5. The group played to a nearly packed house at Audie’s in May.

Tickets cost $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Details: lovethecaptive.com.

UN-CAGED
Audie’s Olympic has secured a date with rockers Cage The Elephant. You might know them from their breakout single, “Ain’t No Rest For the Wicked.”

I was digging their debut album that dropped earlier this year. They’ve got a bit of a dirty rock feel without being too screamy. Advance tickets went on sale today, costing $10. Tickets will cost $15 at the door.

IF YOU’RE KEEPING SCORE
This is a pretty awesome run of concerts. I’m going to all of ‘em.

Nov. 5: Little Dragon
Nov. 7: Jay-Z
Nov. 8: Cage the Elephant
Nov. 9: Vampire Weekend

On Nov. 6 — if you’re wondering — the best concert option Leo Kottke is at Tower Theatre.

SPEAKING OF JAY-Z
Opening acts for Jay-Z’s Nov. 7 date at Save Mart Center were announced when I was vacation and I just haven’t said anything here yet.

Funk/rock band N.E.R.D., which includes famous producer Pharrell Williams, is the biggest name. Up-and-coming rappers Wale and J. Cole are also on the bill.

I’m pretty psyched about that lineup, particularly J. Cole and N.E.R.D.

Responses to "Concert Watch: Brad Paisley, Cage the Elephant, Little Dragon, Flobots and more"

brodiemash says:

Flobots FTW! Glad to see them coming through Fresno. Might just ride my bike to the show, using the handlebars of course because last time I tried that… bad business, man.

Childers says:

This has to be the best month of shows that Fresno has ever seen. Has to be. Unreal that I will be able to catch Cage the Elephant and Flobots in town within eight days of each other. Plus Jay-Z. Plus a second chance to see Little Dragon and atone for my earlier absence. And none of them requiring a drive to LA, SF, or even Visalia. Very cool.
