How are you celebrating Inauguration Day?
Sure, there’s lots of talk today about what people were thinking and feeling when Barack Obama was sworn in as president. But let’s cut to the chase, here — how will you be celebrating?
There are a few cool parties planned tonight, starting with a collaborative celebration between the Fresno Met, the African American Historical and Cultural Museum, Arte Americas and the Downtown Community Arts Collective. They’ll all be open 5-8 p.m. with free admission.
From there, it looks like the Tower District is the place to be:
At the top of lots of lists is the Day One event at Starline, which includes a jazz group headed by Armen Nalbandian performing music from President Obama’s iPod.
Over at Club Fred, it’s a mix of blues and Cajun with A.C. Myles and Bad Boys Zydeco.
Are you going to any of these parties? Another one? Having your own? Let us know in the comments.
