ABC adding five new series

127960_GROUP_01r5_pre.jpg ABC is looking with the new lineup for the 2012-2013 season to continue the winning ways it found with its 2011-2012 TV season when it launched five successful shows. This season, the network will add five new programs to the lineup – two comedies and three dramas.

The most interesting move is the shift of “Revenge” to the 9 p.m. Sunday time slot previously inhabited by “Desperate Housewives.” It looked like “GCB” would take over that slot but ABC axed the new series and now “Revenge” gets the prime spot.

Several series won’t be returning. ABC canceled “Man Up!” and “Charlie’s Angels” a long time ago and “Pan Am” didn’t take off for the network. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” “Work It,” “Wipeout,” “Missing,” “The River” and “Cougar Town” have also been given the boot.

Here’s a look at the new ABC shows and the network’s fall schedule:

“Nashville”: Connie Britton plays a country legend who’s career is on the decline.

“The Neighbors”: A couple move into a gated community full of aliens.

“Last Resort”: A submarine crew builds a home on an exotic island after being declared rogue enemies. Andre Braugher stars.

“666 Park Avenue”: At the ominous address of 666 Park Avenue, anything you desire can be yours. Terry O’Quinn stars.

“Malibu Country”: Reba McEntire plays a woman who leaves dreams of a country singing career behind and moves to California.
