On TV tonight: ‘Saturday Night Live Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas’

Britain Bedtime Stories.JPG “Saturday Night Live Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas,” 9 p.m. KSEE (Channel 24.1): Kristen Wiig hosts this two-hour special as her “SNL” character Gilly. It’s a way to tie together holiday clips from the long-running NBC weekend comedy show.

The comedy bits range from good to bad – just like a regular “Saturday Night Live” episode.

Some of the better offerings are Alec Baldwin’s “NPR’s Delicious Dish and the Schweddy Balls,” a performance of “A Holiday Wish” by Steve Martin and Adam Sandlet singing the “Hanukkah Song.”

There’s also the sketch that’s rapidly becoming one of the most famous in “SNL” history. Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg perform their duet about a very special holiday gift.

no offense but I just don’t think the Gilly character is funny…at…all…..
NBC just cobbles together a popular franchise’s skits,(SNL)and calls it a ‘special’.
*knowing I sound ‘grinch-ey*
But, I miss some original Christmas programming….lately has come only from the ‘County’ side….and of course this sort of ‘special’
