The organizers of weekend’s “Fight for Water 2,” have created a nice narrative to run along side the nationally televised boxing match, which features 2012 U.S. Olympian Jose Ramirez as the main event. They are hoping the fighter’s close ties to the area — he’s from Avenal — will raise awareness about the drought and its affects on the farm-based economy here in the Central Valley.
Wonderful Pistachios (which is itself based in the area) has offered up tickets we’ll pass along to few lucky Beehivers. To enter to win, simply leave a comment in this post. Give us your best guess on how the main event will end (who wins, what round, etc.). The contest runs through noon Thursday. Winners will be chosen at random and notified by email (so check yours if you enter).
