The Beehive Asks: What’s on your grill?
One of the things I love about summer is grilling on my backyard BBQ. It’s so relaxing and easy to grab a glass of wine, roll-up some corn-on-the-cob and toss on some chicken, pork chops, tri-tip or whatever sounds good.
Last night, I went the super-easy burger route. But I spiced it up a bit with some homemade guacamole, thick sliced locally grown tomatoes and leafy lettuce. With Fresno State corn on the side, it was one tasty meal.
Are there any other BBQ fans out there? What have you been grillin’ up this summer? I’d love to hear about your backyard BBQ food adventures.

We grill twice a week or more. Yesterday it was chicken basil sausages from the Golden Gate Meat Co at the SF Ferry Building. Saturday night my husband had a steak and I had a chicken breast. The dog had chicken dogs. Our most recent discovery, however, is grilling fish on a plancha, which we bought at Sur La Table. You can grill any fish and it tastes delicious. I make my own marinades for the fish filets.
LOL i had fresno state corn last nite too!! went saturday and picked up a bunch

Sounds like Fresno State Corn was the norm this weekend.
We did cedar plank salmon, FSU corn, requisite wine and a nice variety of summer salads. YUM!
I don’t eat bread but I still long for a great burger. Right now I’m grilling giant portabella mushrooms and topping them with my burgers. Then I top it with the typical burger goodies like mustard, fresh tomato, grilled onion, dill pickles etc. Delicious! Add corn and you’re good to go in no time!
There is going to be a BBQ cook off in Downtown Fresno at the Eaton Plaza beginning August 25th. (I am not affiliated with the org.) Just thought I would share this information.
Yes, we have a post about it here:
