Before Pentatonix, there was Straight No Chaser. The male a cappella group was formed from students at Indiana University and made a name for itself with a cappella versions of contemporary pop songs. It was all very “Glee.”
The 10-member group is currently on tour in support of its second album, “Under the Influence,” which was released in May (there’s also a Christmas version). They will be in town performing 7 p.m. Sunday at the Saroyan Theatre. Singer songwriter (and contestant on season four of “The Voice”) Caroline Glaser opens the show. You can read our interview with Glaser in the paper on Friday.
We have two tickets to the show to give away to one lucky Beehiver. To enter to win, leave a comment on this post and tell us the song you’d like to hear done “a cappella.” Deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday.
Please don’t enter more than once. Winners will be chosen at random and notified via email Thursday night. So check your email if you entered. Reminder: Because there are physical tickets, you will need to pick them up at The Fresno Bee office (1626 E. St.) during business hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m.). Complete rules on the jump.
Only readers who submit a comment on this post are eligible. Winners will be picked at random. Recipients will be notified by e-mail at the end of each giveaway period.
