Scoopy gets the buzz on ‘Beehive’

Thank goodness for Scoopy, mascot of The Bee and He filled in for me by writing my Sunday column so I could take off early for Thanksgiving. The subject? The Good Company Players production of “Beehive,” the charming musical revue featuring ’60s girl-power rock ‘n’ roll playing at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater. (Here’s my review.) Scoopy got a chance to interview none other than Janis Joplin and Annette Funicello. Special thanks to Astrid Plane and Kelly Brianne Hall, below, who proved so adept at being interviewed by a small insect, although I must say I was surprised at how “close” my substitute got to his interview subjects. I must give Scoopy a refresher course on journalistic ethics.  Here’s an exclusive pic from the interview:

After the jump, you can see Janis Joplin and Annette Funicello as they appear in the show.
