Those looking forward to the Madera District Fair’s opening-night entertainment should take note. Latin rock band Los Lonley Boys have cancelled its scheduled performance and chicano rock band Los Lobos (of “La Bamba” fame) have signed on to fill the Thursday-night slot.
Los Lonely Boys were scheduled to kick of the entertainment at the Mader District Fair, but cancelled due to the ongoing recovery of leader Henry Garza, who injured his back and neck from a fall during a performance in Downey, CA. The band cancelled its next five dates, including the fair show, according to press release from the fair.
From the fair’s general manager Scott Sample: “We wish Mr. Garza a speedy recovery and are fortunate that Los Lobos as agreed to perform in their place. Opening night sets the tone for the Madera Fair and we’re very fortunate that we were able to attract a band of this caliber with such short notice.”
All tickets for the Los Lonely Boys show will be honored. Refunds are available by contacting the fair’s box office at (866) 973-9610 or (559) 674-8511 before tomorrow and submitting a refund request.
