Collectors Expo to be held Saturday

"THE OBLONGS"If you are looking for something to do this weekend, the Fresno Collectors Expo 2013 will be going on from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday at the University Square Inn, 4961 N. Cedar Ave. Admission is $3-5.

The new collector’s show will feature vendors dealing in comic books, toys, records, coins, posters, stamps and sports memorabilia.

“There will be a lot vendors who haven’t been to Fresno. This isn’t just a comic book show but there will be everything from Barbie dolls to salt and pepper sets,” Bruce Campopino, convention organizer, says.

Also on the schedule are appearances by Angus Oblong, creator of the animated TV show “The Oblongs,” and Robert S. Rhine, founder of the magazine Girls and Corpses.

It’s time to pull out that costume that you’ve only been wearing at Halloween because there will be a contest with prizes for the best males and females in children and adult divisions. If you prefer a more sedate form of entertainment, a Magic Tournament is planned.
