UPDATE:We now have a list of all the taco trucks participating in tonight’s event. If your favorite is not listed, make sure they contact the Grizzlies for next year. Also, congratulations to the Beehive’s taco-judge winner Angel Macias Jr. (du_ddah on Instagram).
If you’re still on the fence about going, here’s a video of the Grizzlie’s Sam Hansen talking about the Central Valley’s taco-truck culture and the motivation behind the throwdown.
You’re going to want to save room for the dozen or more tacos you’ll be sampling at tonight’s Taco Truck Throwdown III.
In case you missed it, the Throwdown is an annual celebration of tacos and the Central Valley’s taco-truck culture. It’s hosted by the Fresno Grizzlies and brings together THE BEST trucks from around the region (seriously, the organizers have done their homework on this).
This is the third year for the Throwdown and it’s poised to be the largest yet. The first year was a success — seven trucks sold almost 8,000 tacos during the game. The second year, was simply wild — The game was one of the highest attended last season and close to 15,000 taco were sold.
In the coming days, be sure to check The Beehive for a comprehensive map with all of the food trucks and their relative locations.
