Talking shops: new kids clothing, crafty furniture and shoe store open
Sprockets, a kids brand of clothing featuring a cute little puppy, has opened a store in the outdoor portion of Fashion Fair mall. My colleague BoNhia Lee wrote all about the store in Monday’s Word on the Street.
Interesting tidbit: The brand used to be sold at Mervyns. After that store went south, some investors bought the brand and revived it. It has six stores so far.
3 Oaks Studio has opened in the Dewitt building in Old Town Clovis. This store
specializes in painting furniture and other projects — both selling the finished projects and helping customers with projects of their own. Owner Vicki Shoemaker sells the Annie Sloan brand of paint, which requires no sanding or stripping of the furniture before applying. She says Old Town Clovis is a perfect fit because shoppers can find an old lamp, table or picture frame at a nearby antique shop, then bring it over to 3 Oaks to talk about what to do with it.
- Famous Footwear is now open at River Park near the new Stella Laguna Beach. It opened last week, selling shoes ranging from $20 to $100. It’s the fourth Famous Footwear in the Fresno/Clovis area.
