He’s a one-man blues band, plays slide guitar while kicking a bass and high-hat over drum machine beats. He’s a faceless sort. Wears a racing helmet with a darkened visor, has an old telephone receiver rigged up as a microphone. The whole thing comes off as an otherworldly disco-blues-rock fiasco. Like a bastard child of a David Bowie, Jack White, Evel Knievel three-way.
Bob plays tomorrow night at a rare all-ages show at Howie and Son’s Pizza in Visalia. Local indie blues-rock kings Strange Vine open. The duo played with Bob down in Los Angles this weekend and assure me the show will be INSANE. So …
