Win tickets to ‘The Nutcracker’

If it’s Thanksgiving weekend in Fresno, one thing is for sure: It’s “Nutcracker” time. The Valley Performing Arts Council presents its annual production of the holiday classic Saturday and Sunday at the Saroyan. As in years past, it features the full company of the Sacramento Ballet along with a small army of Valley children who have been working diligently for months.

To celebrate the production, I’m giving away a “family pack” of four tickets to each of this weekend’s three productions. To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite “Nutcracker” memory. (Or, if you’ve never seen it, tell us why you’d like to.) Include which of the three performances you’d like to attend: 1 p.m. Saturday, 7 p.m. Saturday, or 1 p.m. Sunday. (If all three are OK, you can indicate that.) I’ll pick three comments at random. Each winner will receive four tickets.

Please enter only once.  Deadline is 5 p.m. Tuesday. Be sure to check your email, because that’s how I’ll inform winners. Complete rules are on the jump.

Only readers who submit a comment on this post are eligible. Winners will be picked at random. Recipients will be notified by e-mail at the end of each giveaway period. No substitutions or transfer of winners/prizes. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Some prizes may have due dates for redemption/use. Employees and immediate family of The Fresno Bee, and any/all of the participating giveaway sponsors, are not eligible to win. By accepting a giveaway, recipient consents to allow the use of his/her name and/or photograph for advertising or similar promotions without further compensation. Winner releases all sponsors of liability regarding use and enjoyment of the prizes. Tax liabilities and insurance, if any, are sole responsibility of the winner. No purchase necessary to win.
