UPDATE: Congratulations to winners Ben Sondheim, Evelyn Westling and Jim Henderson.

ORIGINAL POST: For 25 years, a stalwart group of older performers has anchored Fresno’s beloved “New Wrinkles.” This annual musical revue featuring performers ages 55 and older runs May 24-June 9. The show has been at Fresno City College since its inception in 1989. We’re preparing a 7 cover story for Friday on the show’s 25th anniversary. I took the pic at right of The Bee’s photo shoot with Geno Ventura, Lucy Del Real and Cynthia Dallas, the three cast members who have been in the show all 25 years.

We’re giving away tickets to Beehive readers. I have three pairs of tickets to give away:

One pair for opening night, 7:30 p.m. Friday.
One pair for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30.
One pair for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6.

To enter, leave a comment on this post. If you’d like, share with us in your post your favorite “New Wrinkles’ memory from the past 24 years. In your comment, indicate which of the three performances you’d prefer to attend (or no preference). The deadline for entry is 5 p.m. Wednesday. One entry per person. I’ll be informing winners by email Wednesday evening, please check at that time. If you win, you’ll be able to pick your tickets at Will Call. Rules are on the jump.

Recipients will be notified by e-mail at the end of each giveaway period. No substitutions or transfer of winners/prizes. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Some prizes may have due dates for redemption/use. Employees and immediate family of The Fresno Bee, and any/all of the participating giveaway sponsors, are not eligible to win. By accepting a giveaway, recipient consents to allow the use of his/her name and/or photograph for advertising or similar promotions without further compensation. Winner releases all sponsors of liability regarding use and enjoyment of the prizes. Tax liabilities and insurance, if any, are sole responsibility of the winner. No purchase necessary to win.

I had the pleasure of being an usher at a show 2 years ago and enjoyed it. I would like to be able to sit in a seat and enjoy it. Great singing and dancing and comedy. Any show date would make me happy. Thanks

Ben Sondheim says:

I would really enjoy seeing this special show featuring Barbara Mendes tap dancing and helping with choreography. She is a Fresno treasure and this will be a very wonderful anniversary show! Any performance would be great to see!

Evelyn Westling says:

When I moved to Fresno 25 yrs. ago, one priority was to subscribe to the Fresno Bee. I read
about a group of Seniors putting on a performance at CityCollege. That was my first social
event in town.
Now: 25 yrs. of the Bee and 24(-1)attendance of the Wrinkles, I am looking forward to this
25 yr. Anniversary celebration.

(Should I be awarded tickets, my preference would be either May 30th or June 6th)

Deborah Hamilton says:

I would love to go! I went for the first time last year, and it fullfilled a dream! And lo, and behold,
a former long time co-worker and her husband Terry and Joannie Starr were in it. Old home week. I love he music, and have met some of the delightful stars at my job(unfortunately I work in a hospital and we must follow the Hippa laws, but they were incredible and wonderful patients, and I’m happy to say are all mended). I would prefer Friday or June 6 if you grant my wish.
