The Beehive is taking over the Tower for Kids Day
Kids Day is tomorrow, which means I'm gonna be up so early that I had nightmares last night about waking up tomorrow. If that barely made sense, imagine what kind of sense I'll be making at this time tomorrow -- after a 5-9 a.m. paper-hawking spree.
I've been involved in Kids Day for five years now (skipping last year 'cause I was sick). And I've always wanted to do something a little different to stand out among the thousands of people selling newspapers on various street corners tomorrow. So this year I did some recruiting.
The awesome ladies of NoTown Roller Derby and violin shredder Patrick Contreras will be helping The Beehive earn your dollar bills for Children's Hospital. Meanwhile, Bill McEwen and Jim Boren are setting up at Shaw and Blackstone, and are being joined by Ashley Swearengin and Alan Autry. Personally, I think The Beehive's lineup is better.
I'll be out there, as will our editor Kathy Mahan. Not sure about the rest of the Beehive bunch. I figure we might be able to convince Will, since acting a fool in public is his favorite thing to do. I'm hoping to snag the corner of Van Ness and Olive, right there in the Tower. So look out for us, Tower Rats. Beehive readers are more than welcome to come chill with us too.
Oh, and if you're some rich person who reads The Beehive, come by and buy 100 newspapers please.

Comments:
maybe Karma will convince me to get up too, and I will meet you guys out there.

Wow. This in the small break in Rogue proceedings?
No one can say the Beehivers don't have hustle.

Kudos to you and The Bee for continuing to raise funds for Children's Hospital. I won't be out there hawking papers this year, but I'll be sure to buy my copy or two or three. Tell your new publisher thanks for not breaking tradition.
