Fresno Bee creates "Watchmen" Web package
It is only a few hours before fans of "Watchmen" will be able to see the feature film version of the much heralded graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
Be warned. Tickets for the 12:01 a.m. screening tonight on the IMAX theater at Riverpark are gone. There are tickets for the 3:20 a.m. showing on IMAX. And the regular 12:01 a.m. screens at Edwards and other theaters in town have some seats left.
If you can't get enough of "Watchmen," fresnobee.com has put together something special for you. Take a look at fresnobee.com/watchmen. The flashy Web site the Bee staff has created includes photos, audio clips and interviews with those behind the film project.
If you aren't a fan of "Watchmen," this online package should be checked out before you head to the theater. It will give you some background about the characters, the graphic novel and the actors. "Watchmen" is based on a very complicated story. Director Zack Snyder could not include everything in this movie. That has left some of the "Watchmen" uneducated a little lost.
After you have checked out the site or looked at the 7 section in Friday's Fresno Bee, go see the movie. Just expect long lines. All sites to buy advance movie tickets are reporting "Watchmen" is about the only tickets being purchased.

Comments:
Incredible article today Rick. It was a meticulously written introduction for those who are unfamiliar with the grovel. "Watchmen" certainly isn't for the faint of heart, nor for those looking for "Spiderman 4", but is a literate, nuanced examination of the human psyche. I appreciate the care with which you tried to get that across to readers...thanks for the work...can't wait to see the film.

This is a great idea. I really don't know a lot about the Watchmen and this helped me a little more to understand. You need to do this with more movies. Good Job.
