Pecha Kucha Night wants you, Fresno
Creative Fresno is still looking for presenters for Pecha Kucha Night No. 2 -- happening Monday at Starline. If you're an artist, designer or just have something visual you'd like to show, consider it. Presenters get to show 20 slides, each for 20 seconds, making for a series of rapid-fire 6:40 displays. The first Pecha Kucha Night was H-Mac's pick as the favorite Fresno event of last year.

you only get twenty slides. it would be pretty hard to limit yourself to only twenty of the crappy flyers you get. hell, you could probably take the last two weeks and have more than enough.

i think it was free last time. or maybe i forgot to pay as well. i wonder if starline charges for sound guys, door, etc?

It was free last time. The $2 donation is just suggested to help offset some of CF's cost. The $$$ all goes back to other PK events in the future.
In some communities they draw 3 to 5 hundred folks out. I am very happy with our first showing (120+) and anticipate a great show this time as well. I think we have a nice diverse collection of "designers" this time around...

MikeOz, don't you DARE do a WFOTW display. These displays stay up for a full TWENTY seconds! What are you trying to do, blind us? or worse??

That first free one was to get people introduced to the idea of Pecha Kucha Night. Now they're hooked because this is a awesome event.
We like to buy the presenters a drink to get them loosened up and thank them for being brave enough to present. So think of it this way, by donating you help buy the presenters a drink. How courteous of you.
