And now for a concert announcement from The Big Fresno Fair ...
I've got the first round of concert news for this year's Big Fresno Fair (Oct. 7-18) and one concert in particular has me giddy like a 12-year-old. I could just say it, but that's no fun. Here's a visual interpretation:

Haven't figured it out yet? Too distracted by the various scenes of my desk? Try this:
Yep, the great MC Hammer will be at The Big Fresno Fair on Oct. 12!
Also announced: The Beach Boys on Oct. 8 and Los Lobos on Oct. 14.
More concert announcements will follow from The Fair and you'll hear them first here on The Beehive.

I'm confused. Is he going to perform or lead the group in mass prayer?

My husband is gonna flip out. Uh oh!
And The Beach Boys? Ugh. My favorite band of all time, but I hate seeing them live now. Its like watching the ghosts of summers past, no thank you!

Great! Now I have this stupid song in my head:
"Hammer, Hammer, I am, Hammer, They put me in the mix!"
Thanks Mike.

Like I said in yesterday's greater rapper post, I knew you owned a pair of Hammer pants during your Oaktown childhood! I must have ESP or something!

...did you actually mention 'Los Lobos' in the same sentence?
with what's passing these days for 'the Beach Boys'
and (what has always been)
'MC Hammer?'
...well, at least that's ONE ray of hope in a sea of suck.

I wonder what version of "BEACH BOYS" are coming. Probably the Mike Love Bruce Johnston version.....IN 2008
Mike Love, John Cowsill (drums), Randell Kirsch(bass guitar),Bruce Johnston(keyboards), Scott Toten (lead guitar),Tim Bonhomme (organ), Christian Love (guitar).

In March 2008, Jardine settled a suit brought against him by Mike Love and the estate of Carl Wilson regarding use of the "Beach Boys" name. Jardine, Love, and Brian Wilson came together during the settlement talks and reportedly sang parts of "Help Me Rhonda" in the hallway.
Recently Jardine has been putting finishing touches to what will be his first full-length solo studio album, with contributions from fellow Beach Boys Brian Wilson, David Marks, and Mike Love - along with guest appearances from Steve Miller, and Gerry Beckley & Dewey Bunnell (members of America). It will also feature a cover of "Honkin' Down the Highway" from the 1977 album The Beach Boys Love You.
