FW: Always check your child's homework
From my personal inbox, via my brother ...
Dear Mrs. Jones,I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.
I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.
From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Smith
... I'm thinking the names are to protect the innocent. (Or, that this whole thing is fake but funny nonetheless.)
PREVIOUSLY: The email's subject line read: 'WTF...OMG!'

Comments:
I've been wondering how long it takes a chain letter to get around... My friend emailed that to me a couple of weeks ago from Oklahoma.

Just a couple one-liners:
"That's a bunch o' cash...especially considering her figure."
"Looks like they just needed some help diggin' a ho."
Sorry.

Is that a shovel or is it a hoe?

...I was thinking:
-it was a huge lot of yuppies seeing the light after a protestor stood with a black sign,
reached the money-grubbing masses through visual imagery and communication,
and was actually being given a windfall of dontations to some worthy cause...
(so she was just able to put her sign down,
there was no more need,
and everyone was happy...)
...But the kids original explaination works too...
(I gotta lay off the herbal tea before noon on weekends.)

Re: first poster...a couple weeks? I literally got that in my inbox when my son was in kindergarten, I remember because I imagined if someone in his class made it. He is in third grade now...Fresno is so behind on everything.

@D: This may be old, but it doesn't make it any less amusing.
Not so amusing: your dismissive and condescending "Fresno is so behind on everything." Generalizations based on one blog post makes you look ignorant, not Fresno.

@ Heather - If you noticed, I said that a friend of mine from Oklahoma was who sent me the email, which would mean that this 'D' character was wrong when he said that Fresno was behind, it wasn't Fresno, it was Oklahoma that was just getting it to me. Obviously if 'D' got it 3 years ago, and lives in Fresno, then Fresno isn't that far behind.
Oh, and I'm from Oklahoma, and I don't think either place is behind. I do think that my friend was behind in sending it to me, because I (of course) immediately forwarded it to some friends of mine, and they told me they had already seen it. Oh well.
@D - The mindset of some people, jeez. Can you do something constructive and quantize the amount of time it would take everyone to get that email to their inbox, using variables such as bulk mailing and people who are just now getting the internet? That way my question would actually be answered, and I would know more than someone in Fresno got the email 3 years ago, and instead of saying something funny, called an entire town "behind"?

@commenters who have seen this prior to my posting of it: my brother lives in florida.
also, i only posted it last week because that's when i got it. i thought it was funny. i wanted to share it with y'all. so, you know, you could think of the beehive as a place to check in on and maybe get a chuckle.
maybe im behind. besides, it's not like we re-post every email that comes in our inbox (just when we're lazy -- and when i say "we," i mean me).
@chris: this isnt a chain letter. there's no ponzi scheme going on here.
anyway, thanks for commenting.

So Fresno was ahead of Florida and Oklahoma then?

mike,
it's because we're on the map now.

@ Mike - Fresno does have the reigning National Champion baseball team, and K-Fed... it shouldn't come as a surprise...
