Happy 18th to Trey Tosh
Fresno's top young guitar slinger ain't that young anymore. Trey Tosh, who started off his career wowing blues fans at Porky's as a 13-year-old would-be Stevie Ray Vaughan, turned 18 on Wednesday. Now-legal Trey played at Sequoia Brewing Co. for his b-day and is planning a big bash and blues jam for Friday night at Crossroads.
Apparently, it's a long-awaited welcome at Crossroads for Trey, as The Man had not been allowing him to play there 'cause of his age. These days Tosh is as much John Mayer as Stevie Ray -- turning into a nice young singer/songwriter to accompany his guitar skills. His "Aiming for the Sun" was my favorite local CD of 2008.
