Chime in on whatever topics you wish: set-list, theatrics, stage presence, crowd response, overall entertainment factor. It's all fair game. But most of all, did you dig the show? Was it worth the money?

It was a good show and in usual Metallica fashion -- this was my 5th Metallica concert -- they jammed for more than 2 hours. I thought the show really hit its stride after about an hour. The good: The rocked classic Metallica from their early albums, and Black. No songs from St. Anger (THANK YOU!) The band seemed to really enjoy themselves, and they give a lot. They don't talk a lot, just play, play, play. The bad: I thought the stage was a bit too big -- not too much interaction between the band mates. And, not related to the band, but the people in the row in front of me decided to practically have sex. I kid you not. Luckily, the concert was loud and entertaining, so I was able to block the groping.

Overall, I had a great time and thought that the concert was awesome. The set list left a little to be desired, but I knew they would be playing a lot of newer stuff from their new CD. Theatrics were awesome... lasers, fire, energy - it was all there. Crowd was very much alive for all of Metallica and most of Lamb of God. The opening band, The Sword, was okay. Overall, I thought it was a great show.

The show last night rocked. I have never seen Metallica before, so being my first time, I was very please. I thought did a good job of mixing the old songs with the new ones. I liked how they interacted with the crowd and liked how, despite the huge stage, they moved around to involve the entire arena. Their sound live is unbelievable and do an excellent job entertaining. The show, however, was quite long but that is expected from hearing a good amount of songs at the length of each individual one. I am very glad I was able to attend and see legends rock!

This is my 4th metallica concert. I saw them at Summer Sanitarium 2000 and Summer Sanitarium 2003 both in San Francisco and candlestick park. Well in my opinion last night's fresno show rocked!! Worth every penny!! Metallica are the Kings of rock!! I did not really enjoy opening band lamb of god though. Way too heavy!!! Where they speaking english? I could not understand their lyrics. They played alot of older material! Awesome!! Seek and Destroy! Hetfield has awesome energy in his vocals! Kirk Hammett wow!! what an unbelievable guitarist!! Lars always was rad as always on the drums!! Robert Trujillo as always was wearing shorts and was great! I love his power stance!!

Unbelievable show!!!

It must be hard with a band like Metallica to choose your songs. They played alot of their hits and they still left out Ride the Lightning, Fuel, Blackened, Battery, and The Judas Kiss (my personal fav on Death Magnetic). Unlike some people I heartily enjoyed Death Magnetic, so I was happy with what tracks they played from that, and as far as their older stuff goes the hits were all there. Hetfeild sure knows how to pump up a crowd! Sad But True was probably the climax. Good stuff. Oh and The Sword was surprisingly good

Metallica just rocks! After 20 years in the business, this band still owns the rock scene. The arena was sold out, and not a single person was sitting the entire time Metallica was on stage. The band sounds better then they ever have, and still have the awesome energy. I think we almost had a riot in the arena when the show closed with the black metallica beach balls dropping down from the ceiling of the arena, but it was so cool to watch from the upper level. The fire and laser light show was cool too, just a perfect performance in my book. The opening bands were ok, not great. I'm not sure what Lamb of God was trying to be, they looked like something between Ministry and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, kinda weird. The Sword looked like some dudes from the snack bar. But Metallica owned the arena when they came out, and Metallica will always own!

I cannot believe how amazing it was. I saw Metallica in 2004, when they came to the Savemart Center, and it was a different show, but both were amazing. They used the entire stage and were so full of energy. They performed for about 2 1/2 hours, try and find another band that can play as hard as they do for that long. The performance was amazing, they had awesome pyrotechnics, fog and lazers, lights, and metal coffins(Death Magnetic) that moved! Being a huge Metallica fan, they didn't play my favorite song, but that is okay. They have so many great songs that we would have been there until the morning if they played them all. They mixed there old songs with there new, infact, my favorite song that they performed was from the new cd, "Cyanide". I don't know of a band that gets the crowd as involved as they do. In the very end, when they played "Seek and Destroyed", they turned on all the lights and about 70 big and small, black beach balls(i think), with metallica written on them, fell into the crowds and just tossed them around the entire stadium. I knew the words to every song and sand along with them, my neck and throat hurt from singing and rockin' out, COME BACK SOOOOON! Amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing!!!

Out of all the shows ive seen over the years...lasts nights metallica show was the greatest. that was the first time ive seen them live but it was a night to remember, i didnt watch the other bands play so we lounged around until metallica hit the stage. james had so much energy i dont know how he can do this every night, same goes for lars, kirk and robert. the only disapointment was that they didnt play "fade to black", all i know is that this will NOT be the last metallica show i see.

11:00p they had 'enter the sandman' on at work last night before closing...

11:15p I drove home headed down Shaw in a lot of traffic...

(I made no connection.)

But now it makes sense...
otherwise normal lookin folks sitting in traffic headbanging behind the wheel of a minivan, going:
'..what... WHAT? YOU SAY SOMTHING?!' to each other all over the place...

Metallica came out last night and proved why they are the best. I drove out from Vegas to catch the show. Second time seeing them, first time indoors. Intense set. Lars' kick pedal sounded awesome. Best concert I've ever been to. I thought The Sword sucked. Never heard of them and after last night, never want to. Lamb of God brought a lot of energy to the show after the boring opening act. Only two minor issues at the end of the night. The guitars for the first two bands didn't sound that great over the P.A. The sound seemed kind of mushed. Is that just me or did anyone else feel that way? Even Metallica's guitars sounded a little mushed. Other issue is with Metallica's set list. A little heavy on the Black Album. But that totally gets trumped by the fact that they are the best band ever and can do whatever they want. I will provide a breakdown of songs by album. This is all from memory and I was f***ed up at the show, so it might only be 99 percent accurate:

Kill Em All: Motorbreath Seek and Destroy
Ride the Lightning:Fight Fire with Fire Creeping Death
Master of Puppets:Master of Puppets
And Justice for All:One
Black:Enter Sandman Sad But True Unforgiven Wherever I May Roam Nothing Else Matters
Death Magnetic: Tracks 1-6 Jammed on Suicide and Redemption riff a little bit
Other:Last Caress James did tease the crowd by playing the And Justice for All intro riff only to shift into The Unforgiven intro

As you can see, a lot of songs missing (No For Whom the Bell Tolls?). I can't be easy making a Metallica set list. But they are such a great band that they can play whatever songs they choose and put on a hell of a show. I had such a great time I didn't want to leave Fresno to come back to Vegas. I then remembered how much I enjoy being employed. I know this post is a little long. I hope it was informing and interesting.

I have seen Metallica four times now. They rocked the Save Mart Center last night. I enjoyed the mixture of old and new material. I felt the band was in top form and they are the best band around. Everyone stood up for over 2 hours to watch the metal gods blow the roof off of the Save Mart Center. I hope everyone who went enjoyed the show as much as I did.

Great show! My seats could have been better. But I waited too long to buy them! The second time i've seen them. The first time was in 1985, Day on the green in Oakland(ride the lightning tour). They were on a six band show. They were third behind Scorpions and Ratt if you can believe that!!! They have a song from that show on the Cliff em All DVD. It's For Whom the Bell Tolls. You can see the white Scorpion legs on the side of the stage!Enough about that. This show was killer! I love a good live drummer. Hetfield and Hammett are so tight at their playing.Trujillo was a great addition to the band. He brings alot of energy and enthusiasm The only thing we could have asked for was another hour of songs.

Metallica @ Save Mart Center: The Way Death Magnetic Should've Sounded.

Not really, it would have been quite rumbly. But at least evenly balanced and non-distorted.

James Hetfield did make sort of an apology for the way Death Magnetic was mastered. Sort of.

They were still very loud, but every sound was balanced and accounted for. The guitars sounded ridiculously awesome. I'd guess that they were using amp modeling, because there were no amp heads on stage and the cabinets on stage looked like dummies. And all the guitar (and especially bass) changing the sound was almost consistent throughout and with recordings.

The open arena staging worked really well. The only thing that I found funny was I could see Lars Ulrich's bald spot with my binoculars when his drum set faced away from me.

this was my 6th concert i attended at the savemart center and without a doubt THE BEST EVER!!!!!! first time seeing metallica live and i can't wait to see them again! after all these years they still got it. crowd was great. there was a few songs i wish they would have played: for whom the bell tolls, fuel and the memory remains. but being one of the best bands ever with so many hits i'm sure it's hard to pick. have they had played all there greats we would have been there all night. i have only become a bigger fan after watching them live! i ask that everyone keep supporting metallica and keep real music, talented musicians and true heavy metal alive forever! rock on everyone!!!! metallica: thanks for the best show i've ever seen!!!!! come back soon!!!

I've never seen Metallica put on a dull show and they are back on top with the new album and tour. My only problem was that the set list was pretty much all the hits along with the new stuff. I've seen other city's get a better mix of the hits, new stuff, and stuff that hasn't been played in a while, but oh well. But you can't say even if they play all the hits that the show is dull. These guys know how to put on an arena rock show. Also check out the Metallica webpage. They have the full show up on MP3 for only $9.99 or if you got tickets with it added in, all you have to have is the code from the ticket to download it or any audio from the tour so far.

KILLER SHOW!!!! It's Monday and my neck is still sore. Great set list and awesome stage. I was on the floor but because of the way the sage was set up I never had to push my way into a good spot.

The show was great...There were a ton of tore back peeps who looked like the meth trailer was parked right outside. That's cool.

I could tell that many of the people either 1) onced owned an IROC or Trans Am, 2) made out in an IROC or Trans Am, or 3) have an IROC or Trans Am repossessed...

We took my girlfriend's 14 year old nephew and his buddy. It was cool to see that they enjoyed the older stuff more than the NewTallica...

Keep it rockin...this made me more inclined to try and catch Cube's show at the Crest...

I am so disappointed that Metallica played so many songs from the new CD. The whole show was awful, I want my $58.00 back. They played a very show four years ago. Those four guys don't even act like metal singers anymore. They sound like the Britney Spears back-up singers.
