Worst Flier of the Week: New Year's Eve edition
Welcome to the final Worst Flier of the Week for 2008. Today we're looking at New Year's Eve fliers -- as if they were any doubt. Once again, I'm leaving it up to a vote. Our contenders are from three categories:
1. Animation Overload.
2. Hella cheesy.
3. Hella 1995.
And now onto the contenders:
1. Animation Overload
I've said this before and I might be alone -- but I really kinda hate these animated gif fliers that everybody is making.
2. Hella Cheesy
I pick this one. The Hummers and the Cristal at the top just scream out "Lame," but the ace for me is that they're advertising four rooms with one of them being the "heated patio."
3. Hella 1995
I feel like we need to pick on the people who don't even try. Yes, some of the graphic designers try too hard. But then there are the people who make fliers from Windows '95 Clip Art.

Comments:
Clip Art FTW!
Though animation overload almost gave me a seizure.

Damn, that's the closest I'll ever get to HMac's phone number.

Wow, Salsa's has "On Sight" photography. That sounds kinda dangerous.
Question: Are there enough Fresno "VIPs" to fill all the spots in everyone's "VIP" room?

All that flashing makes me think of the lights on a cop car at a DUI checkpoint -- another standard for New Year's Eve.

i like the goofy, 1985 one. makes me chuckle and know that it'll be a nice, safe and sane good time.
the worst, i'm going w/the one with h2's on it. screams douchebag. partially due to the h2's, partially because they're calling it soiree. really, you're calling it a french word @ a mexican restaurant (salsa's bar & grill).
francais n'est pas pour vous douchebags.

LOL! this is the phunniest shiet I've seen posted. Phreaking hillarious! Ok,i agree, blink o rama, retina overload, not everyone can pull of flash (*wink *wink)
On to the Hummers.... damn. It's a good thing that gas is like 2 bucks a pop so it's now kewl to drive them again. (or is it) wonder if they have a vip room for the humbies? maybe they can set up an area in the parking lot. that would be 5 rooms, although I distinctly remember one small crappy venue. (not to mention ghettofabulous)
and lastly... clip art? nah, don't think so. More like the Jewish community center had an activity day. wtf?

They all sicken me. Off to SF I go!

None of them make me want to leave the comfort of my couch! But if I had to hate on one in particular it would be the hella 1995 jawn. This is on some Lamar type tip.
Although I must say, Lamar has stepped it up in recent months with colored paper on my window shield instead of plain white.
Plus I'm not tryin to pay $15 cuts to get into a spot I wouldn't go to for free on a regular night.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... Who is "incoNgnito", at least spell our family name correctly! I'm just sitting here minding my own business and BAM, I see that I have a child.
Anyway, all the fliers are funny to some degree and to answer Billh, NO THERE AREN'T ENOUGH VIP people to fill one of those rooms, well, then again... NOPE, I stand by my statement!

so true ...lol

Sad!!! The circa 1995 flier is kinda how I view the venue... so that's not a stretch and the others are just way too ghetto-fab! :p
