What more can we say ... THANK YOU!
SATURDAY UPDATE: Thanks to all who made The Beehive's B-Day Party a huge success. The place was packed last night. The music was awesome. The people were great. And, of course, Scoopy was a hit.
We'll have lots of pics, videos and thoughts to offer once our hangover is gone we get back to work. For now, leave your thoughts, links and whatever else you got in the comments.

Comments:
I had a blast! It was so nice to meet so many people that I know only through text. Ah context.
Thanks for putting this shindig on.

Wonderfully good time. I have several complaints, however:
1. The top-10 commentors were NOT all in attendance, which is tantamount to criminal behavior (this means YOU, Wet Towel).
2. Of the commentors who WERE there, while it was fun to meet you all, I think it was expected that, since each of us got a free T-shirt, we were to make sure HMac never ran out of cocktails. FAIL.
3. Scoopy was cute as hell, but wtf with the outfit? Dirty bee.
4. The theramin scares me.
5. Mdub looks NOTHING like how I pictured him. Why, he's not a dirty old man at ALL.
6. Adam looks exactly as I expected (only younger)
7. Mr. Incognito blew his cover as being anonymous.
8. Will and Josh's greatest friend in the crowd was the one who yelled "Booorrinnnggggg." Of course they were boring. It's what they do. FAIL for not taking off clothes, tho.
9. MsJoey needed more stage time. Oof. Let her not sing a song next time, eh, Will?
10. Thanks go to Geanie and Sierra Vista Mall for the raffle prizes, but raffle selection people should have been females in bikinis. Hmac, Felicia, MsJoey and ReneeN. And maybe Donald.
11. I was, am, and are the #2 commentor. I talk too much, and have earned that right, below Michael. For using too many words, I'm #2 behind WetFail. So HMac, as a paid beehiver, you don't get to count your comments!! The EGO on this woman. PS--Great dress last night. OOF.
12. There is no 12.
GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I want to see the party blogged by each beehiver in attendance (boo, Rick!) based on their own corner of the blogosphere. HMac blogging about the celebs in attendance. Will's video. MikeOz about the music. Donald an overall review. Felicia with commentary and previous links.
Final thought: An autographed book by Bill McEwen is NEVER to be a raffle prize again. Next time substitute a $2 dollar PBR in a can. Much better value.

Last night was a blast! And I'm with Stephen, Mdub was NOTHING like I imagined. Dude was cool (and not just cause we share the same first name). Stephen I didn't get a chance to introduce myself, so for that I apologize.
To all at the Beehive, thank you for throwing what was probably the best party of the year. I know you say it's us commentators who make this site, but you guys give us the site and let us be ourselves. So thank you.
And I should have all my pics uploaded either today or tomorrow. And I think there's one of me for all the commentators who weren't there (I'm looking at you dave).

re: attendance
well, some folks have to work.
-THIS one went to Club Fred, and at 10:15 was told by the door guy:
'...we're not letting anyone else in,
we're at 285,
we're at max. capacity,
all these people standing out here are just smokers, (Blake is a smoker now? I did not know that...)
and I have gotta close the door...'
unkaaaaayy,
so I head back to the car, call Jag.
'..Eric, it's too loud to hear you just get here...'
(I holler into phone:
'...not letting me in, too crowded.'
'..well, then you're S.O.L. thanks for coming down.'
(...Jag, Marcel, Joy (etc.) were all sitting at the high round table just to the left as you walk into the door between it and the bar, talking to Mr. Nice Doorman, I was looking right at Joy, (not an uncomfortable thing to do, btw,) Marcel was pith'd on, (as usual...)
Back at cave?
Emailed Will, Mike Oz, tol' em
'sorry fellas, the nice man at the door said 'no,'
(then found out that I was 3rd. highest commenter with a shirt waiting for me...
Text'd Jag, asked him to thank Oz for me...'
oh well,
life goes on.

You all ROCKED!!!!!! I had a blast and I'm going to start the call to arms for a BeeHive party every 6 months just because. It was great to finally see the people behind the comments!

I've got a little video up. It's shaky and not much, but it has Famous Whitewater wearing wings. Peep it.

My words have always been simple so I'll keep them exactly this way, simple! Thank you so much for getting everyone together to groove.
I, personally, found the darkest deepest corner to chill in and it fit me quite nicely actually, until my cover was blown of course.
This is community ALL and it's great to be a part of this "Beehive" community!
I've known "Hmac", Heather, "H", whatever you want to call her, since our Fresno State days and last night, I was like DAMN, she looks good, so does Ms. Joey, Teresa (I have a secret crush) and...and...(LOL)
"H", I would have bought you a drink but your cache of beverages were so neatly laid out before you, it made me re-consider my thought.
Posted by: Mr. Incognito at December 6, 2008 12:20 PM
Renee has a good idea on the every six month party thing. What if the Beehive just said we'll be at such and such bar to hang out and if you wanna show up cool? Kinda like a mixer type thing. Doesn't have to be any bands, etc (though I did like seeing myself looped over and over again in the less than adequate projector at Fred's last night). Just people hanging out. Just a suggestion.
Posted by: Michael at December 6, 2008 12:20 PM
I had a great time last night, also. It was fun seeing and hearing from some of my musician friends, former co-workers, bloggers, and neighbors. It has been so long since I have had such an entertainment-filled weekend. I likey.
I am however disappointed that Swedebiscuit didn't make the "swede" cut. I feel that the crowd was adult enough to handle it, even though the projection didn't do them justice. I am convinced that many of the early crowd still don't get it.
Don't think that the weekend is over, yet. Tonight we have Roger Perry at Full Circle. He has assured me that there is going to be a "Suite" performed that is not to be missed.
Thanks again to Mike, Will, and all the Beehivers.

It was nice seeing familiar faces. I was so disappointed to have to leave just as Patrick Contreras was starting his set, but what I heard was fantastic.

Now that was fun! Thanks to all who made this happen. Fresnan - enjoyed your vid and thanks for the quick look at my art amongst the crowd shots, Marcel and Joy - loved your many photos and hanging with you at the party. I missed getting my shirt, can someone send me one? Thanks again for inviting me to share my art with the BeeHive masses.

I'm a bit hung over, thanks to Roque. I still have cake in my hair, thanks to Hari Kari. And I LOVE my tshirt.
thanks Beehive for a totally rockin night!!!
And to Will, Mike and Michael, damn you paparazzi!!

Yes! I'll chime in with all those that said it was a great time.
Community is a big deal to me, and here it was.
I'll also chime in with Michael saying thank you to the Beehive crew. They set up the template and the atmosphere to make that community happen---and they organized a wahoozie of a party.
I was transfixed by Mr. Incognito's performance. People were glued in. Skill and stage presence to the max.
'twas an honor to hang out with and even jam with some superlocalmusicians.
Mark of an overwhelming party, that I didn't even see half the people who were there.
i.e. Diablo.
and @Wet Towel, you being a significant commentor here, I'm surprised that you didn't just hang out a bit with the smokers and those of us who were just getting some 'fresh?'(laughs)..er fogfilled air and then waltz on in, no one was stamped, I'm wondering how they knew who was there before or not.
My regret? That so many folks there that I was only able to say a 'hello, nice to meet you' to, seemed like people I'd really like to sit down and talk with.
Thanks again Beehive people!
Posted by: blake at December 6, 2008 2:09 PM
It needs to be said that the two people who deserve credit for making this party happen are Mike Oz and Kathy Mahan. I don't know how involved the other Beehivers were, but I, for one, did absolutely nothing but show up and accept free drinks.
So: major, major props to Mike and Kathy for doing such a swell job.
Posted by: Heather at December 6, 2008 2:24 PM
That was cool man. I had a great time. No complaints for sure on this event. Thanks BeehivE.

Thank you Fresno Beehive for the great time last night. It was good to see so many familiar faces and share my art work with them. And thanks for the movie tickets!
Posted by: teresa at December 6, 2008 8:53 PM
Much kudos to Kathy Mahan AND to Bethany, who also clearly helped out a bunch.
Mr. Incognito's work deserves a more rapt audience, but he just kept on steamin' through. Blake's right about the stage presence.
Teresa, your best artwork was just YOU being there.
MsJoey, you can grab my boob anyday. And I'm quite certain Scoopy didn't mind either.
MORE Beehive bashes!!!

Great party Beehive...things sure have been happening...
the FUSE Festival was great...
the Swede Festival was strong for being so young and so odd...
the Beehive party was off the hook...
the Rogue Festival is right around the corner and will be fun as always...
Thank you to all who give a crap about this community: organizers & participators...
It was a wonderful weekend...I hope everyone got some deserved rest...

Ok, the pics I took are finally uploaded. Anyone can check them out here: http://flickr.com/photos/moralthreat/sets/72157610859717512/
And I third what Stephen said about Mr. I. The dude had me transfixed on him while he was on stage. And I'm not much of a poetry guy. Great job man.
Posted by: Michael at December 7, 2008 9:28 AM
Michael, Blake, and Stephen, I want to say thank you for your kind words. My goal is to never be the center of attention in anything I'm doing because it's always easier to slide in and out of situations when you're a nobody!
The event was a success and I was honored to be asked to perform. I wasn't even going to say that I blogged or anything but "The Wizard" (OZ) took care of that for me.
My stage presence comes from the fact I was scared senseless by too many variables to name; there were too many qualified individuals in the room! I'm typing too much so, thank you once again for the kind words and hopefully we'll be able to mingle at another event soon.
Michael, I'm happy to hear that you're not much of a poetry guy because neither am I...
"And so his face was erased, just like that he was gone without a trace, now the only test is to attempt to retrace his words and his face" - G.F.T.D. 1
What did you see that caused you to believe in community?
Incognito - "I saw both the young and the old talking, laughing, and sharing as one, on Friday night."
Teresa Flores, get at me girl, I need your art in the new year. Get at Oz for my info. ; - )

What an awesome night! Though somebody totally ganked my Beehive shirt sometime btwn 11pm and 1am when I wasn't looking, but I won concert tickets later so it's all good.
First time I'd heard Blake Jones and Patrick Contreras live, they were awesome. Everyone was great, actually.
@Will @Joshua You need to record a full version of your Beehive song, I wanna hear that sh*t! Damn those folks who booed you off stage, damn them I says!
Posted by: Bryan Harley at December 7, 2008 4:05 PM
Late entry but ditto to the many previous stated congrats. this was a very fun night. I also got to hear Blake Jones for the first time, and, finally met Donald Munro. Next year you need to find a more appropriate place for Teresa's art than next to the Men's Room.

To Mike and everyone else at the beehive.
Thanks for having our band. It was an honor to play with all the guest musicians, and we had a great time. The T-shirts were sick! thanks again ,

Cool, I woke up! Big shout out to everyone at the show on Friday as it was cool meeting all of you. To the Beehive, thanks & congrats on such a bad ass party! It simply rocked!

Late as usual....Friday night was a great time. There were so many people there! I was looking for name tags (yes I'm dorky like that) ha. I met Renee and mdub. She is bubbly and he looked so cute and shy!
Thanks for a fun evening and looking forward to the next one, with name tags haha

I'm late, too. But I just wanted to say how much fun I had meeting some of the folks who are our constant friends on the Beehive! It was also wonderful to see so much support from so many people at the birthday party.
And huge props to Mike Oz and Kathy Mahan for getting this all pulled together.
Again, thanks everyone....Without you all, we are nothing!

@bryan ... thanks. we're working on it. even with josh dressed in fairy wings, we were no competition for patrick.

@ Ray: I definitely agree, but it was the only open space that I could hang it and I figured, high traffic area. Hey, why not?
@ Stephen: I'm assuming that was a compliment, right? ;)
@ Mr. Incognito: GFTD1?
Looks like the Beehive was my last outing for a while. It was nice seeing everyone. I'll be staying home from now until February. I've got work to do for my show at the DCAC in February and my film program for the Rogue.
Peace.

@Blake, here's a funny story about the smokers section outside. I went back to the car to put my coat away (way too hot inside to deal with it) and on the way back in, there is a nice looking man, 40ish standing between the wall of the laundry and an SUV with the hatch opened. I had started to walk on the sidewalk toward him but saw there wasn't much room so went around the car. He looks at me and says "I'm not smoking crack". I said "ummmm oookay..." Him "really, its just a little pot.". I said, "I don't recall asking." and kept walking.
I only walked around the car cause all common sense said don't walk between a man in an alley, tight space and an SUV with the truck opened. I think he smoked a little too much "just a little pot." ha

It was great to meet my fellow Beehive commenters live and in the flesh. This may sound corny, but I was star struck when meeting some of you, haha. I got a kick out of what some of you said when first meeting. H-Mac said that I look normal, LOL!!
I'm definently open to attending another beehive party in the future.

@Mdub420...it was nice to put a face to a handle. Keep making sporadic public appearances...keep them wanting more...

Good evening. For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.
I am from Islands and also now'm speaking English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Whether it’s the gentle parting kiss on the forehead or the cheek kiss used to greet close friends."
Thanks :p. Aliza.
