Five Things You Should Do This Weekend
Besides, ya know, going to see Metallica. We wouldn't want to be one of the few cities that doesn't sell out, right?
1. PARTY LIKE A MOFO: If you liked that little taste of MoFo Party Band at The Beehive party, then go see their whole high-energy blues set over at Club Fred tonight. Good times assured.
2. GET READY FOR METALLICA PT. 1: There's some good metal on the menu this weekend, making for a nice Metallica warm-up. First up, check out HateFX over at Starline tonight. They'll be debuting their new CD "The Holy Frail" and a number of hard-rocking bands are also on the bill. Learn more about HateFX is today's Artist You Should Know column.
3. GET READY FOR METALLICA PT. 2: More metal at The Exit tonight, where Fresno's Azathoth leads a night honoring two deceased metal legends: Pantera's Dimebag Darrell and Chuck Schuldiner, known as the Father of Death Metal.
4. FEEL THE SOUUUUUULAR POWER: Metal not your thing? See the Club Fred-debut of soul/funk band Soular Power. With nine pieces, they're doing the soul-band-of-yesteryear thing -- think Earth, Wind & Fire, Sly & The Family Stone.
5. BRING DA MF'IN RUCKUS! "Check it, my method on the microphone's bangin / Wu-Tang slang'll leave your headpiece hangin / Bust this, I'm kickin like Segall, Out for Justice" And that's all I gots to say.

First a "plus one" to the good time you'll have if you make it out to the MoFos Friday night.
and.....here's a suggestion for the earlier part of your evening Saturday.
Over at Full Circle Brewery, Joy, of Suicide Lounge has put together a variety show featuring burlesque dancers, Suicide Lounge themselves and the comedy of Jaguar Bennet.
(I and Mrs.Jones have a bit part in the proceedings: we accompany Jag in an Esperanto reading of The Night Before Christmas (bongos and theremin, dig it, baby.)
Shows at 8pm at Full Circle on F street.

Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang par-tay... "It broke me up when they pat me on my shoulder, said stay strong cause his life is now over"...
Grimey, shake them bruddas...
LOL, I'll be at the library tonight!

In case you need more of an incentive to come out to Soular Power on Saturday night, we'll be offering $5 admission for anyone dressed super-funk (i.e. Sly, George Clinton, disco, etc) Check out our myspace (linked above and below) for more information.

Oh yeah, and on Sunday afternoon
in the parking lot between Hooters and Marie Calendars
(or as I told friends: halfway between Ginger and Maryanne)
The Trike Shop will be playing (along with several other
local bands including A.C. Myles and Monkeywrench) for a
Toys For Tots (almost wrote 'toys Not tots', but the FNB benefit is in January) event called Rock the Lot.
We'll play at 2pm, but there's a whole pile of local bands.
Come out. Hear some music. Bring an unwrapped toy. Make the kids happy.

We went to the Warnor's Theater to see TABLEAU.
It was a gorgeous "Cirque Du Soleil" style show.
You get to see acrobats, rythem drumming, contortionists, and tons of gorgeous people. The tricks are amazing!
Im quite in lust with the two strong men..MEOW.
There are showings on Saturday, at 730pm, and Sunday at 2 pm.
Its well worth the ticket price.
Youll even have time to hit the Winter Carnival at Eaton Plaza, after, on saturday night.
We did that after the show and had a ball. Hardly anyone there at 9 pm and we had the whole place to ourselves.
They run the rides extra long for ya.
Check out Tableau. Its really something different for a change.
