arrow Michael Crichton, 66, dies

Author Michael Crichton died unexpectedly Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles. According to his family, Crichton had been battling cancer.

Crichton, who is best known for writing Jurassic Park, also was the author of The Andromeda Strain, Sphere, Congo, Rising Sun and Disclosure, and the creator of "ER."

Michael Crichton, 66, dies...only to be re-animated using a bit of his DNA found in an old piece of chewing gum found stuck to the underside of his desk.
