I really liked Love Seats at the Cafe Corazon benefit.
I got there CD from them; that'll be my album of the week.

I just added cuts off Coldplay's "Prospekt's March." I love Coldplay, but the band couldn't include these songs on the original "Viva la Vida" CD?

I have some smokin' Foreigner and Boston cassettes in my Walkman lately. Still not sure what this iPod thing is.

The new GnR is really, really good. I know a lot of folks weren't expecting much, myself included, after all this time but honestly, this is one of the best rock releases in quite a few years.

If you're expecting another Appetite for Destruction, it's not that. It's really not like anything I can think of offhand, kind of a combination of what GnR were and a lot of the sounds that have evolved in popular music since the last time we heard from Axl.

All mashed up into a package that comes pretty close to qualifying as a masterpiece.

...sorry, need to pitch a great album, but it's not new.
-Bruce Hornsby 'Halcyon Days.'
-it's a few years old, but still stunning.

Also doing a lot of Louis Prima,(this guy was a blast.)

(Still trying to find a decent version of Shaw's 'Sing-Sing (with a Swing)'
like the live edition my dad had as a kid... (all the remakes are just too canned.)
-Nothing like jitterbugging your way through a ton of black-friday building...

I'm going to have to go with Nickelback and Toby Keith. Both new albums rock. Unlike many albums, the songs that make it on the radio aren't the only really good ones. And Jason Mraz's album as well though it's not quite "new" anymore.I would like to hear The Killers so that's next on my list.

don't worry you'll be listening to them a year from now when they're "new" music ;)

Mike, everybody knows that the hot new music of the season is from Crystal Stilts, Hot Lava, Heartsrevolution, and Thunderheist. Geez, man.

EVENING ECLECTIC. 90.7 KFSR. WEEKNIGHTS 6 P.M. TO MIDNIGHT.

@Rob:
I've been jammin Chester French for about a year now. They, however, didn't have an album drop this week, thus were not on the poll.

@Jeffresno:
The season ... OK. I was just talking about stuff that came out this week, which was probably one of the biggest new release weeks of the year. I'll certainly allow the Evening Eclectic plug, though.

@Israel don't forget to clean up your mess. Unless you like it all over your shoes.

Thanks, Mike. Oh, and for your readers who are looking for more than just the same ol' Nickelback, there are a TON of local bands with new and eclectic music out "this season." Bands like Circles & Circles, the Super Lucky Catz, Sleepover Disaster, Succulent, your man Planet Asia, and too many others to mention. Get it on the Evening Eclectic.

I'm lucky to be connected....only fresh DJ mixes for me

Nothing inspires me in the mainstream lately, not even five finger death punch who just had a show over the weekend at the Crest. I met the singer in the alley while we were cleaning up.

I might maybe get the new SlipKnot album though....

Love the elitism. I happen to like a lot of music, including Super Lucky Catz. Sorry, you don't get to dictate the kind of music "the in people" listen to. Some of us actually will listen to everything and pick and choose from all sorts of music. It's called variety, that spice of life? I'd be more than happy to listen to anything you suggest. I might even like it, or I might not. But at least I don't put my nose in the air.

Thanks Mike, for sharing it all. Cause you're cool like that.
