arrow Steady Mobbin': Ice Cube to perform in Fresno on Dec. 19

Ice Cube, once the hardest rapper out and now an actor whose post-1995 résumé we'd rather not talk about, will perform at the Crest Theatre on Dec. 19.

Tickets cost $35 and go on sale Saturday at timgardeapresents.com. Physical tickets can be copped at Valentino's and Stuffed Pipe starting Thursday. There are limited VIP tickets for $50. I'm gonna go listen to "No Vaseline" now.

Boy did you hit the nail on the head with, "once the hardest rapper" bit! Cube is perhaps the ULTIMATE example of how commercialization blew up Hip - Hop!

my gawd i love ice cube. but he's fallen a long way. remember yesterday when you were talking about eminem and whether or not he's been passed by, now think about cube. he's playing the crest theater. the crest!

and as much as i love cube, $35? $50 for vip? he better break out every one of his hits if i'm shellin out that much, along with enough of the lesser known great songs.

Raw Footage is up there as one of the best rap albums of 2008. Did you guys sleep on that?

mdub,
i did sleep on that album because cube's gangster schtick is so tired for me now. i just don't care to hear america's formerly most wanted rap about guns, gangs and the the life and then see a commercial for 'are we there yet' or whatever it's devil spawn was.

but maybe i should check it out, because i've always thought cube wrote and performed some of the hardest lines with a great flow.

I understand that ed. You have these so called hardcore gangstas rapping on their albums, talking about killing and robbing, doing drugs, all the while they are chilling in their mansions, taking care of their kids, and spending time with their wife, instead of the hoes they rap about, haha. I hear ya, i hate that too.

But Cube isn't rapping about being a gangsta. He has some of his hardcore flow that we have come to love from Cube, but he has some songs that are actually kind of preachy. He's rapping about stopping the violence, providing messages to the youngins out there that feel gangbanging is the only way of life.

i'm not good at giving album reviews, so I recommend you listen for yourself. especially since you are an Ice Cube fan. You'll enjoy his flows and witty rhymes on this one.

I did actually like Laugh Now, Cry Later. His previous album that was released in 2006. But yeah, look past how he's doing comedies for the kids and rapping about that G sh!t on some songs. You'll enjoy this album.

There's definitely some good stuff on "Raw Footage."

"Hood Mentality" might be one of my favorite beats of the year. That song is the Cube I love to hear.

I'm all for angry Ice Cube, like on "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It" and "It Takes A Nation."

ICE CUBE is the f*****n man. All of you sh*t talkers on this p***y a** site must have something against money because it sounds like your only gripe about cube is the fact that he got his paper instead of dying broke in the hood or selling crack like the rest of the weak MC'S from that time. I have never heard a bad cube album.

I saw Cube at the Fillmore in the bay in August, and it was worth it. He performed old and new...I can't wait.
