McCain to Letterman: "I screwed up"
Did you catch John McCain's appearance on "The Late Show" last night? If you'll recall, the senator was supposed to appear on David Letterman's talk show last month, but -- you know -- didn't.
It seemed at first that Letterman was going to let McCain off the hook with a simple mea culpa, but it would appear Dave was merely letting the senator get comfortable in preparation for an even bigger grilling regarding the senator's pal, Gordon Liddy (please excuse the ad):
I believe that, Mr. McCain, is what it's like to deal with a maverick.

"i hadn't had as much fun since my last interrogation."
now that's a pretty good line.
now, i realize that this is only part of the interview, but i actually thought mccain did a decent enough job.
of course, an interview with letterman doesn't change your policy, doesn't disavow the repeated falsehoods given by palin about obama @ rallies, doesn't change mccain's childish behaviors during the debates.

I thought Letterman raked McCain over the coals on the G. Gordon Liddy/William Ayers bit. Dave set him up so good for that one and just cornered him.

Letterman at his very best!!! Especially in the 2nd half of the McCain interview! Good to see that both -at least somewhat- kept their sense of humor in all of this though

"I screwed up." ...so is there an apology in there somewhere?
