Wabo Watch: Here comes Sammy!
We've been waiting a while for Sammy Hagar to show up at Fresno Wabo. This morning Hagar announced Fresno's patience has been rewarded, to the key of two free shows in late October.
He writes on his blog:
Redheads, October 28th and 29th the Wabos and I will be performing 2 FREE shows at the Fresno Cabo Wabo! We want you to be there and ready to Roll!Doors open at 5:30pm and entrance into both shows will be a first come first serve basis!! Get ready to party and hear some NEW stuff from our NEW album!!
Peace,
Sammy
In other Wabo news:
Rumors had been swilling that Sammy was here this weekend. There is a Hagar here, but it's Aaron, Sammy's son. He'll be at Fresno Wabo all weekend, playing with the Parris Bros. Band.
The Parris Band is based in Visalia, but plays frequently at Cabo Wabo in Lake Tahoe. The band was at Fresno Wabo last weekend and is back this weekend. Apparently Parris and his band have a good relationship with Aaron Hagar. And, according to Fresno Wabo honcho Milt Barbis, Sammy's son is handling all the booking at Fresno Wabo right now.

Someone needs to open a David Lee Roth-themed "Hooters" style place already.
Hot wings, hot babes, hot squealing from the man himself!

Dave, is that dead horse beat to a pulp yet? I'm just curious, what isn't ghetto to you? Anything north of Nees?
Good thing you won't be there. More booze for us fun people.

Has anyone been to Cabo Wabo for dinner on a Friday say around 4:30 or 5? Is it busy? Wait time? Help me out I want to take my family there tonight but with a 17 month old waiting is not always a blast. Thanks.

I have to reply to "Dave" and his ghetto comment. I grew up in the so called "ghetto" around the Cabo In Fresno and it was a great place to grow up. Who do you think you are?Obviously someone with no class who feels good putting others down. With all the turmoil in the world today, let us Sammy fans escape and have some fun and enjoy his visit without comments from you.

I've said it before and I will say it again, Sammy is nuts to have free shows in Fresno and expect to please everyone!! So many people are going to be disappointed! Why not charge the $150 bucks then give peeps a free dinner or something once they arrive! I have a feeling it's going to be CAMP WABO for over a week before the show!!
