arrow The Emmys remind me why I don't watch award shows

I only caught about four minutes of the Emmys (thank Yoda it was the four minutes featuring the amazing Ricky Gervais), so I can't really comment on what went down this evening. All I can offer is this:

What. The. S***. Is. Happening. Here?

Singing the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme song is what you do when you're drunk and hanging out with your friends. Shame on whoever tapped this Josh Groban guy to do it in front of the world.

Seriously. Did you see the part where he sang the "South Park" theme? Did you?

Trust me Heather you aren't missing a thing. For some reason I'm still watching this debacle of an awards show after the Groban bit. You missed a horrible Laugh In bit where they had some of the original actors in a 60's psychedelic colored wall like in the old show. They were supposed to announce the winners of best variety show and I swear it took like ten minutes. I seriously was gnawing at my wrist to make the pain go away.

This whole having five hosts is just stupid. And they keep showing clips from old shows. It's the fricken 60th anniversary show for crying out loud. How long will this drag out when it's actually an important anniversary?

With this economy, they just couldn't afford anything better.

Ha! Jack Bauer (who plays Keifer Sutherland) just came on to say the show is running late.

...Clearly we have just been attacked by Canada...
that's IT...I think medley's in general need to be banned from the existance of all carbon based life-forms...

Allow me to the lone dissenter by saying that I though the Josh Groban bit was kinda funny because he was mkaing fun of himself and showing that he has a personality beyond the "Josh Groban" persona.

I don't think Groban was making fun of himself here or if he did he didn't do a good job. It was a bad choice on the Acedemy's part to have him do it.

If you want to see Groban make fun of himself, check out Kimmel's I'm f*cking Ben Affleck video. He did a much better job there showing he has a humorous side.

Oh, I thought the Josh Groban bit was hilarious. The guy normally sings all that gospel-y, inspirational music and now he's singing the Primus song from South Park? Very funny in my book.

I thought Groban was funny, too. But, the whole show was AWFUL! Boring, bad writing. Bad delivery. Bad hosts. Bad speeches. The only thing memorable was some of the dresses.

Wow. And I used to sorta like Josh Groban.

As bad as this year's Emmy show was -- and "bad" doesn't even begin to describe the Groban bit and the rest of it -- it didn't quite match the dismal depths of the 1989 Oscar telecast in which Rob Lowe sang with Snow White. Look that one up on YouTube.

Dear God Felicia why do you hate us so? I actually looked up that thing and I can't get my ears to stop bleeding now.

Man,

That was absolutely craptastic.

South Park? Seriously?

Couldn't he have at least done Beavis and Butthead so that he could tell himself how much he sucked?

The show was terrible! Who ever thought of the idea of multiple hosts should be out looking for a job Monday morning! We turned the channel after just a few minutes of punishment!
