Sun sets on 'Twilight'

meyer.jpg

I'm obsessed with "Twilight" (and vamp-hero Edward Cullen). I read the blogs. Check out websites. Count the days to the movie release. Re-read the books. You get the idea.

So, no worse news could come than to learn that author Stephenie Meyer has put the release of "Midnight Sun" on hold.

That sucks!

Now I have to decide: Do I read the "flawed" draft that's out or wait to see if she polishes the book?

The whole thing makes me wonder why there's a culture of spoilers on the Web? Why can't people just wait and let fans anticipate?

I get that Meyer is pissed about the draft leaking, but this whole shelving the book thing sounds like a spoiled child taking her ball and going home.

Think maybe she has writer's block and was just looking for an excuse out?

It's a good possibility, Heather. She may be a bit gunshy with some of the bad reviews on "Breaking Dawn." Plus, the more I think about it, the more I think you're right. She is acting childish. It's not like fans won't buy the book when she puts it out.

Kathy,
It is YOUR fault I have lost so much sleep in the last month! I, too, am now obsessed with these books. Am now a member of the very cult I made fun of last month...
I chose to read "Midnight Sun", flaws and all. Couldn't help it. I agree with Heather. Meyer is a bit "pouty" about the whole thing. Doesn't she know we'd ALL buy the book, spoilers posted and all?
Oh, well... there's always the movie...
