Oh, that new law doesn't automatically make people better drivers?
I've already made it clear where I stand on the hands-free cell phone law, but here's a clever little video that makes the point in a different way.

This thing is so true and hilarious. I can poop, eat sleep, sew, do just about anything except hold a cell phone while driving. Wow.

That video if quite funny, and it should be looked at in exactly that way. Just funny. But legally speaking, it would be difficult to ban people from making wood flutes, or alphabetizing their dvd collection by the director's middle name just because those things are so random it would never pass. Fact is, cell phone usage is at an all time nutty level in this country. Back in my day (1993 yo!), if was waiting at the greyhound station for 2 hours for the next bus to wyoming, I would read, talk to my strange neighbors, or simply do nothing, which was nice. But now, u can just reach in your pocket and reach out and touch some one in a non literal sense. As much cell phones bring to our life when it comes to convienence, it also takes away from moments of self reflection which now seems to be an lost art to some degree. But back to the orignal point. Nothing wrong with banning cell phone usage while driving. There are many not so bright laws out there, but I have to think this is not one of them. Perhaps I am biased, but I have been hit twice by people talking on their phones. I know most of the statistics out there concern those who died, but what about those who have been hit and could have potentially been injured, or those who are trying to make it to work on time to avoid a tongue lashing from their boss for being 3 minutes late only to be slowed down by an inept talky talky driver in front of them.?? I dunno Mike. This ain't a bad law as far as laws go, if you really think about it. I actually think it is a multi-benificial one, which is rare as far as traffic laws go. Promotes saftey (u cannot deny that as much as you try), creates revenue for the city (In a non BS, chicken "S" way) and most importantly, it will encourage drivers to perhaps think about stuff other than calling their friend and talking about absolutely nothing of import while slowing down three lanes of Herndon.. Mike seriously, do you write this stuff just to be controversial or do u actually have any legitimate reasons behind being opposed to the new law? If it is the former, I highly recommend that you work for Fox news and not the Fresno Bee. Those "journalists" there seem to be quite good about making much ado about nothing as well.

lOL!!!!! Video of the year. As a baseball fan, I laughed my butt off when he said, "they say it's the Cubs years, I don't think so, you know what I mean?" Well I wonder what he thinks now since they got Rich Harden.
Rich Harden will lead the Cubs to the promise land, you watch, haha.

If I could, I'd simply quote Michael all over again. Nicely put, sir.
