How are you supporting local economy?
In these troubled economic times, it is important that we each do our part to help out our local economy.
Knowing this, I went out Saturday night with the goal of economic stimulus in mind. What is the best way to spend my money here in Fresno, I wondered, and then the answer was clear to me: a tattoo from a local artist would be both economically responsible and environmentally... um.. pretty.
It's been 11 years since my last tattoo, so I was nervous, but I just kept reminding myself: You're doing this for Fresno.
Outside of the tattoo shop, I found a dollar on the ground. The universe was thanking me, and I felt proud.
What did you do to boost Fresno's economy last night?
Yes, it's really me:
Thanks to La Luna Loca for being there, to Nicole for the wicked ink, and to Missy T for the photos.

Comments:
well, i support a few purveyors of of fine potent potables. with some regularity, i might add. and last night i visited two of them.
i also support my favorite local coffee roaster by purchasing beans to be brewed @ home, as well as whatever i buy and enjoy while i'm there. in fact, the other day i was quite wired with 3 shots of espresso and two cups of coffee.
and, i also like to support a local tattoo artist, although my current ink provider is originally from amsterdam (monica @ tower tattoo).
sadly, whenever i receive my economic stimulus "package" i probably won't be able to spend it to support anything local. instead, i will be shipping it off to a faceless corporation that previously allowed me to spend money however i chose. i doubt this will help the recession we seem to be in.

questions that come to mind:
1. -'ten years since your last tattoo,'
--your folks let you get a tattoo at the age of fourteen?
;)
(It's an age/looks compliment... go with it.)
2. -OUCH! (I mean, pretty, yes, but (...OUCH!)
4. -you realize that the picture makes you look like you've got pink bunny ears, (subliminal obsession with Easter?, eh?)
3. -and,
a man from the tri-state area
-who is enduring the local menu which means '...order what ever you want,
-but there's going to be beans-n-cheese in there somewhere...'
steps up to the microphone, grips the stand in his best Elvis and asks:
'.....buh-buh-buh bay-buh,
-ah-whut-ah does it ah meannnnn?'
(thankyou-thankyouverrry-much)

All I know is that I had a great time last night. Your ink looks amazing. I am still stinging from my encounter with the tattoo gun but it was well worth it.
You rock, HMac.

OMG! What, are you vying for "The Fresnobeehive Blogger Who Looks the Most Like a Carnie!"?
It's always a good idea to get tatts that can still be hidden by your tube top. {shaking head}

Tom, I'm vying for "The Fresno Beehive blogger most willing to go to extremes for a semi-amusing blog post."
I hope I'm at least in the top two. Other than shaving my head Britney-style I'm not sure what more I can do.

I like it. I'm kind of jealous, as just the other day I was thinking that I would like to get another one also. Not to sure what Grandma is going to say when and if she sees it. In the meantime, I'm not going to tell her. I'll let you do that. Loved wet towels comment on your age and your parents letting you get a tatoo at such a young age (haha).
