Did Coolio just say Fresno?!?
Friend of The Beehive Erik writes with the following morsel:
I was listening to Adam Carrola this morning as he was trying to explain to Coolio that most L.A. radio hosts aren't natives of L.A. because they have to work their way up from smaller markets. To which Coolio remarks, "Like Fresno?" I just thought I'd share that. I know you Beehivers are interested whenever someone mentions Fresno.
Yes, Erik, we are. So much so that we sought out the audio (listen here) to hear Coolio say it himself. Erik's recount is indeed true. Coolio understands such things, because when your mediocre rap career fizzles out, you have to find ways to still make money ...
Like hosting a cooking show on some Web site, hoping one day you'll get the hits of Funny or Die. Same thing, right?

Of course Coolie knows Fresno. He was once accused of shopping lifting at Mervyns on Ashlan and Blackstone before one of his lackluster shows. I'm not kidding.

I once saw Coolio literally fall out of a Hummer filled with smoke(like Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High)in Shaver Lake heading up to Sierra Summit to snowboard.

next thing, somebody's gonna tell me they saw Coolio singing "Gangsta's Paradise" at Chris' Meat Market ...
... and then offering to wash their windows.

Oh, I'm not disputing what he said. It's true. Jocks in Fresno are often trying to work their way up.

I heard once awhile ago that Coolio was telling other artist not to come to Fresno and made some comment about everyone getting shot out here.
Always wondered it that was true or just a rumor. lol
